Consistently wonderful food, friendly service, knowledgeable staff and just an all around great experience! Pros: Food, Service, Environment Cons: hmmm...not a lot of var...

Worst

We have for a while considered Acadia a regular ""go-to"" place for dinner; a stand-by if you will for a good tasty dinner, but it has passed a point for us, and not a good one. ...

Best Cajun in town 9/9/2005

Hands down the best Cajun in town. Try the barbeque shrimp appetizer - absolutely amazing!! more

Delicious and a great evening 8/30/2005

This is a great spot. The staff is incredibly nice. The food is spectacular. The wine list has a well thought out selection. They were obviously busy and held it together nicely. I will be back. I will bring friends. I will enjoy it again. more

Good food but a lot of negatives... 8/17/2005

I was really excited about going to this restaraunt because of the great things I have heard about it from local newspapers and my love for spicy foods. On arriving at Acadia we noticed it was kind of in a ""rough"" neighborhood. Not somewhere you would imagine going to a spend $80 on dinner for two. While entering the building we were greeted with a ""How's it going?"" which seemed kind of odd for a classy joint. The menu's seemed like they were made of construction paper and the servers were very busy talking amongst themselves. Anyway, I had the house specialty, the BBQ shrimp and it was pretty good, not worth the ""house specialty"" label, but good. Overall, it was a romantic and elegant dining experience, just don't look out the window or expect too much for the amount of money. Pros: Good Drinks, Warm Decor, Romantic Cons: Food Portions, Service, Location more

AMAZING! 8/4/2005

This restaurant is beyond perfect. My husband and I are what we like to call ""restaurant connoisseurs."" We have been to some of the most elegant and exquisite restaurants in the country, and yet Acadia remains our all-time favorite. The food is unbelievalby fantastic (I dont think you could find a bad thing on the menu). The service is great, the ambiance is classy yet comfortable. I have nothing bad to say about Acadia. Eveybody should try it! Pros: Food, Service, Great Value Cons: Only Street Parking more

Mmmm 7/20/2005

Acadia deserves all the rave reviews! My mom and I both tried meals we had never tasted before (catfish for her, grilled romaine for me) and they were both delicious! Grilled salad didn't sound to appealing, but it was filling, and with the combination of the sauce, excellent. The caesar and the bleu cheese salads were some of the best I've tasted. For dessert I've had better bread pudding, but it was still tasty. I would definitely come back. The food isn't cheap, but a good value, especially with the prixe fixed 3 course option for $25. I will be back, this is one of Portland's best! Pros: Delicious food, Friendly service, Interesting flavors Cons: Parking more

the best 4/17/2005

I can't believe it took us so long to eat here. It was everything we had heard. Great, Great, Great. My husband and I had a very romantic date here. The service, food and ambience was 10 plus. We will be back for years to come. Thank you for such a lovely experience. Pros: great food Cons: need a reservation more

Acadia Review 9/18/2004

Decor is very nice but noisy, it was very hard to hear conversions. Being from the south, I found the food was OK but pricey for what you got. If you are expecting Spicy New Orleans Seafood Gumbo, you may be disappointed. Very long wait, even with reservations. Pros: Nice Decor, Good Drinks Cons: , Pricey, Noisy more

the best 7/19/2004

Being a recent grad of Western Culinary, acadia showcases the excellence of both food and service I will strive for when I get the chance to operate a restaurant. They made my second anniversary a blast by being attentive, yet unobtrusive. the Food ,decor and ambiance set the tone for a wonderful night of celebration Pros: Food, Ambiance, service Cons: noisy more

INCREDIBLE FOOD!! 7/14/2004

This place is INCREDIBLE! They had room for the eight of us, the food was great - I had the Shrimp Creola which was yummy - but after tasting the pork chops my friend ordered I would HIGHLY recommend that!! Something else I would recommend which caught us all by surprise is their French Quarter Martini. For those who drink martinin's you'd be highly surprised that the ingredients they put in it would be so tasty!! Oh and if you're staying for dessert.....the bread pudding! Oh, one more thing - Monday's they have a ""value meal"" which includes your salad, main entree and bread pudding for 18bucks. I recommend that too. The service was great, the ambience was great....everything was...well...GREAT!!! more

Now doing Sunday Brunch!!!!! 5/5/2004

Acadia is our regular favorite. Now my dream has come true, Sunday brunch!!! Once again the crew at Acadia has outdone themselves. The black cat (a catfish and crawdad benedict) is finely tuned taste combination, the blueberry cornbread muffins could be a meal on their own. The only problem is choosing which breakfast to have, and which tasty drink to go with with it. The service was friendly and prompt. As usual Acadia has stepped up and proven what a great restaurant they really are, I can't wait to see what they come up with next!!!! Pros: Awesome service, nice atmosphere, great artwork more

Awesome Cajun Food! 2/19/2004

My wife is Cajun and is a harse judge of the cuisine (everything is compared to her mothers, as it should be) and we both came out of there wanting more. A wonderful staff, attentive and friendly who went out of their way to accomadate us. Romantic but still lively feel to the place with a great little bar. The food, drop jaw amazing. What we like to call fancy Cajun. The BBQ prawns are making my mouth water thinking about them right now (and it is 9am!) the softshell crab, crawfish etouffe and pecan pie were astounding. You will love this place! Pros: food, food, food more

Good Date Spot 8/18/2003

I had to find a good place to take a date for their birthday, and Acadia was defintely a good choice. It's on a cute corner in NE and the food was absolutely delicious. No dish we had wasn't wonderful. It's a good date atmosphere with great food, darkened lighting and small enough to be cozy but big enough to not feel cloistered. Highly recommended! Pros: Friendly Staff, Excellent Food, Good Atmosphere Cons: tables a bit close more

A close second in PDX 6/4/2003

While it might not be fair to compare Acadia to Bernie's Southern Bistro - the former is true Southern cooking while the latter is Northwest with a Southern flare - one needs a local point of reference. For starters Acadia has the best Caesar salad in town! If you like catfish, definitely go for the Black Cat. The Louisiana Shrimp, their signature dish, is excellent (be sure to save some bread as the prawn sauce is heavenly.) They dont skimp on the details such as the accompanying vegetables. Their signature dessert - Bread Pudding - was definitely unique and tasteful, but I'd opt for Bernie's version. Service was great and the Wednesday only lunch is worth a visit. Dinner prices are a bit high, but no more than any other comparable restaurant. Pros: Black Cat, Shrimp signature dish, Caesar salad more

Big Easy 4/22/2003

The food and atmosphere are excellent. We've been for celebrations and to take advantage of Monday specials. Crawfish by the pound for appetizers, a crawfish/lobster bisque special to die for, Shrimp Acadian for the entree, and the Cumcumber Martini for cocktails...you can't go wrong. Also, the owner and matrie d' creates masterpieces for dessert. Pros: unique menu items, servers more

Great food, overpriced 1/25/2003

Acadia has a romantic ambiance, a very interesting menu and most everything we ordered was delicious. Salads are overpriced though (almost $10 each)...Entrees were great, especially the shrimp creole. The soft shell crab seemed to have sat a while before being served and was a little soggy. Mixed drinks were excellent, and the creme brulee bread pudding was unique and delectable. We would recommend Acadia for a special occasion but because of the prices we won't be going back too often. Pros: interesting menu, good drinks, romantic ambiance Cons: high prices more
