Beautiful wonderful cake. A little pricey but absolutly worth the money. The best tasting cake I have ever had!

Worst

It is so sad what has happened to this once great shop. Their cakes are now overpriced, often stale, and it is hit and miss on decorations.

ABC proudly calls itself a ""cake shop"" and not a bakery, as well it should. Their cakes are by far, some of the best in Albuquerque. Their decorating prowess is exceptional and when you are looking for a cake for ANY special event, this is the only place to go in New Mexico. Sadly though, their cookies are somewhat below average. Don't get me wrong, the pastry-style cookies are delicious and flaky, and most of their other cookies are also delicious. more

exceeded my expectations 10/12/2010

ABC did my cake for my Christmas wedding. It was made to looks like stacked presents, VERY unique. ABC exceeded my expectations and more. The cake was beautiful! It tasted fantastic! I really recommend the spice cake. It was DELICIOUS! We paired it with an apple filling, for one of the ""presents"". Almost a month later, after all the aspects of my wedding, Im still hearing about how delicious the cake was! Thank you ABC! more

I was Very Impressed 10/7/2010

Had an awesome experience with ABC Cake Shop. Initially I stopped in to see the facility and get a feel for their designs and prices. I was very impressed when the owner was assisting customers, and was willing to sit down with me go over pricing, day of the event timeline and design options. I orderd both a grooms cake and a traditional cake. They did an awesome job on both and really went above and beyond to help me design a perfect grooms cake for my husband. (A drum set) more

The cakes are so moist and delicious! 10/5/2010

I went to several cake tastings and was always disappointed at how dry everyone's cakes were! ABC Cake Shop was on my list to try so finally it to ABC Cake Shop...we were so blown away at what we found! Wow!!! The cake are so moist and delicious! There where so helpful when it came to the design. I had already picked one out of a magazine but knew that it required fondant icing which I was scared of since everyone talks about how awful it is. On my third tasting, ABC let me try there Satin Ice fondant icing which was so much better than I expected. I was overjoyed that I could get the design that I wanted without sacrificing the taste! On the actual day the cake came out exactly how I wanted it and tasted so great! I cant wait to have them do our free anniversary cake! more

The cake tasted amazing. They were very easy to work with. They only down fall was the cake we got had a topper and we didn't want a topper so we asked them to just put flowers and the flowers they put did not match the cake. more

Why cant they just get it right? 6/17/2010

I've been a big fan of ABC Cakes... love them! Actually our whole family orders cakes from there. BUT it seems like every time I ordered a cake from there they screw it all up. My baby shower cake... wrong flavors and sloppy decorating! My son's 1st birthday/baptismal... UGLY CAKES! his birthday cake looked like a tombstone not a #1 and the baptismal cake looked like something I could have done.. AND I CANT BAKE! His 2nd birthday I decided to go with cupcakes, thinking you cant possibly screw up cupcakes. Well i was wrong! They hassled with me about the cupcakes I wanted, I thought I was the customer? and once again ...not what i wanted. If you have been there before you know their cakes aren?t cheap!! I am a local caterer, who uses ABC's Bakery on a regular basis! Recently, I had an immediate need , their staff was friendly, understanding, and most of all accomodating. The cake that I purchased was a white cake with a delicious lemon filling, topped with a scrumptious icing( just a hint of lemon to compliment, but not overpower). I had so many compliments on the cake- one of the guest inquired if I made the cake- I confessed I did not- she ordered her twins that exact cake for their 9th birthday party. First a word of caution. They are closed on Sundays. More warnings: you will leave heavier then when you entered. I have been known to have a pastry and coffee and go back and do the same again. It is all but impossible to look at the vast and delicious selection and restrict yourself to only one measly thing. It all looks and tastes too good. I would recommend something but there is no point because it is ALL good. You might not want to bother with something like a sticky bun which other people can do alright with. Get something like a sourthern red velvet cupcakes. The coffee could be better and more consistent. They should work at this because then they would be perfect. But frankly you could skip the coffee altogether and they'd still be worth the trip. We're lucky to have this place and others like it in New Mexico- it's rare Pros: Everything Sweet. Way Overrated!! 2/26/2009

I purchased a cake for a baby shower and the cake was extremely dry (chocolate) and the icing wasn't a buttercream which is what I ordered but simply an inexpensive whipped topping. We were all extremely disappointed and neither I (nor any of the other shower attendents) will patronize ABC again! more
