A Pineywoods’ management and employees believe in giving back to the East Texas communities they serve. Dr. Neal and Mary Ann Naranjo started the a bleacher program in 2000 because they noticed a lack of bleachers on the fields of East Texas when their children played baseball and soccer. Since that time, A Pineywoods has donated over 60 bleachers to baseball, football, and soccer fields all over East Texas. A Pineywoods and the Naranjos also sponsor the fireworks display for Lufkin ISD’s Honor America Night in November every year. Additionally, A Pineywoods has purchased over 30 park benches for senior centers, community centers, and parks all over East Texas. The company also donated a batting cage to the Lufkin Girls Softball Association and a scoreboard to Center Youth Baseball. All of these donations are in addition to A Pineywoods’ regular donations to the American Heart Association, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, and the American Cancer Society. Our latest project is a blood drive that A Pineywoods is sponsoring in Lufkin, Texas.
A Pineywoods’ employees actively participate in their communities in numerous ways. Several of our offices have participated in various Veteran’s Day and Christmas parades and have won awards for their floats. We have a champion barbeque team that participates in various cook offs. Our employees participate in health fairs and blood pressure clinics all over East Texas. When hurricanes Katrina and Rita devastated the Gulf Coast, A Pineywoods’ employees spent hours working at the many evacuation centers set up in East Texas. A Pineywoods co-sponsors caregiver conferences and seminars with DETCOG and RSVP. Not only do the employees of A Pineywoods take pride in providing the best patient care possible, they take pride in giving back to the communities where they live and work.
