A genius in Glendale 5/18/2008

I started going to Alina when I moved from Gemany to Pasadena in summer 2006. I love her Salon. It?s cozy, stress-free and the people are very warm and friendly. Alina?s is high professional and my haircuts are always beautiful. Alina knows exactly what cut I like. My last stylist was a genius and I?m happy there is one in Glendale too: ALINA. Fly in to Get Your Hair Cut Because Alina is the Best 4/18/2008

My wife and I started going to Alina when we lived in Hollywood and just loved her and her work. We then moved to Arizona for a year and kept flying in to see her and now live in San Francisco and she is still the only person I trust to cut my hair and not make it look like a woman's bob. I have medium long hair and have difficulty finding someone who knows how to cut longer hair on a man. If you live in the area, definitely go see her, if you do not consider flying down, because it is worth it. more

Friendly and fun - absolutely the best! 4/9/2008

I've tried quite a few salons looking for a stylist who could do beautiful hair without the "I'm too groovy to be friendly" attitude that is so common in L.A....and Alina was worth the wait! I have been going to A La Mode for many, many months now (sorry it took me so long to write!) and I love it! The shop is adorable and cozy, the vibe is relaxed and friendly and Alina's haircuts and color are always beautiful. Both Alina and her assistant Madai always take great care of me and I would highly recommended A La Mode to anyone who wants beautiful hair with a personal touch! They area the best! Pros: Small and personal, friendly staff, competitive prices more

Wow. I went to Alina on Valentines Day and she delivered one hell of a haircut. I love how she just knows what would be good on you. I came in with pictures, none of which I was sold on, but thought they would look good on me. What I needed was just a new look...and thats exactly what she gave me! She took one look at my face, examined my hair, and told me what she thought would look great according to bone structure, etc. I got the cutest haircut of my life! This woman knows her hair, and she has a vision. I get complimented every day on my hair, the dude at the airport looked at my license, then looked back up at me and said, "your hair looks much better now" LOL! People mistake me for being almost ten years younger, and they ask me if I am a model. If you want a complete confidence boost and a rockin haircut that frames your face and matches your personality--then make an appointment with this woman!!!!!!! Pros: parking, service, not rushed more

The Best Salon in LA 2/24/2008

I have been to many salons all over LA and I can honestly say I have found THE ONE! Alina did miracles on my hair and I am so thankful I found her. Two weeks before my engagment party I had gone to another lady who turned my beautiful brown hair into orange copper. Devestated, I searched for a professional salon who would be able to fix my color. I heard about many salons, but A LA Mode seemed to be one that I heard only good stuff about. I called Alina and she gave me an appointment. When I walked into her salon she welcomed me with a warm hello and a sweet smile. We laughed about my hair and she said she would do all she could to make it look good for my engagment party. She worked on my hair for over 2 hours. When she washed my hair and combed it through, I couldn't believe the difference. I swear, I never thought that nasty orange dye would come out of my hair. She dyed my hair and gave me the most beautiful highlights. My engagment pictures look absolutely beautiful and I am so happy to have found someone who will work with my hair like a professional. I love Alina and strongly reccommend her to anyone who is looking for a comfortable atmosphere to go to be beautified!!! Thanks Alina! Pros: Friendly and knowledgable staff. Cons: none more

In one word, Alina is the best. When I moved to Glendale, I was looking for a place to get my hair cut. I tried a few, but was never really happy with the results. Partly my fault since I don't really know what I want. Eventually, I found Alina. The first time she cut my hair she did her usual thing. "How would you like it cut? How short on the sides? How much off the top?" As a guy, I hate to think about this. I said to her, "you're the boss, make it look good." She did, and she has been doing so for almost two years now. We have a standing appointment, and by now she knows what I want better than I do. She is fast, fun to talk to, and always works with my schedule. As an added bonus, she is cute as a button. I have no qualms recommending her to any guy looking for a great cut. Pros: Great cut, friendly service, reasonable price Cons: None more

Usually, the price of a cut/color includes styling. I have never been charged an extra fee for this. I was shocked to know my bill was $40 more than what was quoted for a cut/color. Pros: local Cons: styling fee for a standard cut more

Alina is my go to girl for everything - cuts, color and extensions. I started going to Alina last year upon the recommendation of a friend and haven't looked back since. In fact, all of my friends go to her. I got complimented on my hair all the time and people ALWAYS ask me where I go to get it done. Alina knows exactly what color I like my hair to be (and trust me, I'm picky) and is the only person that's ever gotten it right. She's up to date with the latest cuts and styles (obvious just by looking at her) and will honestly tell you what will work for you. She always makes it a point to try to fit me into her schedule even when she's swamped, and I really appreciate that with my busy work schedule. Her salon is a comfortable ambience that's like being at a friend's place, yet she's uber professional. I can't say enough good things about Alina and A La Mode. Go there - you won't be disappointed. more

I drive all the way from Palm Springs to Glendale, just to see Alina. I have been seeing her now for 3 years for my Hair Extensions and my hair Color. I have tried 3 different Hair Extension systems until I found "Ala Mode Hair Studio". I love going there. The attention to details, the comfortable environment and the energy of the salon is magnificent. Needless to say, the compliments I have gotten on my hair all these years, have been amazing!. Nobody believes that it is not my own hair !! It looks so natural, it feels so real, it stays so perfect from day 1, until the day we decide it's time to change it for a new set. (Ladies, this hair has taken 10 years off my life, no kidding). Pros: Ambience,great parking and service and extremely clean and comfortable.beautifully decorated Cons: I live in Palm Springs, I wish she was closer to me. No Cons At all. She is great!!!! more
