I bought my wedding dress from A Beautiful Bride. I have very mixed feelings on the experience. I was VERY late buying my dress, and Jeanne, the owner, was very reassuring about getting it all done (which they did). It is always VERY busy in there, so you don't get a lot of service and often have to wait a long time. However, there are a TON of dresses in there in a range of sizes. The work the seamstress did on my dress was beautiful and reasonable ($200 to add bustle, remove modesty panel in corset back, add halter straps, hook veil to train). The dress was priced well (I think), but Jeanne has this was of selling to you where she acts like she is giving a huge discount, and then it turns out it wasn't. In the long run I got a beautiful dress for a decent price. My bridesmaids had their dresses taken up there and she only charged $30 and did a great job.
The bad: It is CRAZY in there and CROWDED. I went in once JUST to pay, nothing else and it took 45 minutes for her to get to me. She does a million things at once, and then ends up forgetting where she was. She charged us $10 to get a tiny stain out of a dress for me - I watched her spend LITERALLY 1 minute on it. She encouraged my mother in law to buy a larger sized mother of the groom dress b/c "it would cost a LOT to have a dress let out, but not much to have it taken in". Then she charged her $189 for her alteration (shortening a skirt from the waistband, taking in 2 inches on each side of the top part. )
I don't know. I would recommend you go, just MAKE SURE that you have the alterations costs before they do them and expect to be there a long time every time you go.
