Big gym with plenty of machines 6/6/2011

I have one of those 24 hour Fitness memberships that allow me to use any 24HF. I'm on the road quite a bit for work, so it's nice to be able to fit in a workout wherever I am. I started doing this about a year ago and it's worked out nicely.\r The best part about it is that there are so many 24HF around. It's relatively easy to find one nearby. This one in particular is nice. It's big, spacious. There are plenty of machines, so it's easy to get a quick workout in. I don't like having to wait for machines espeically if I'm trying to workout during lunch. The staff here was friendly and the locker rooms were clean. more

Pressure from staff, avoid Sone, doesn't listen 6/1/2007

I was at the 24 hour fitness on Anton. I had a counselor named Sone. The thing I was confused by was that he kept saying that they are supportive of members or people looking to become members. When the whole time I was talking to him, (in the tour of the place and sitting down with him), was I couldn't get thru to him that I just wanted to use the pool. I was a swimmer since 5 until college days. He kept telling me that I can not get a full workout just on swimming. I felt like I had to ""challenge"" him about the sport and grew tired of telling him, "" I just want to use the pool, "" or ""why can't I just use the pool."" I felt like he was a ""cheap car salesman"", trying to get me to pay more. Sure, it sounded like a great deal-""we are having a special yesterday, BUT because you came in today, I will still give you this great deal!"" I thought nothing of it at first, but then he's trying to swiftly get me to sign up for a personal trainer where I just mention 7 times that I DID NOT want a personal trainer!! Then he wasn't asking anymore, he was tellingme, ""which one will you choose"", as I'm looking at a $99, a $299 and a $500 deal for a trainer, I was getting so irritated with him. I should've walked out. When my last month is paid for, I'm going to L.A. fitness or anywhere else but there. I felt ripped off when I stepped out and I was so angry and felt really dumb by signing on the dotted line. Sone looked really irritated that I wasn't signing up for anything else. I figure he was trained to get people to sign up for more things to spend more money or maybe it's his commission? I'm not sure. The way he was talking to me, like he couldn't give me a straight answer why I can't just swim, made me feel like there was something wrong with me. NOt everyone is in the same place. I'm not all serious about loosing weight, (which he commented that I needed to). I just want to get out of the house for a hour because I have 4 kids!!!! Very dissappointing Sone! Pros: they have a swimming pool Cons: pressure from Sone, (counselor), pushy, too ""give me your money"" more

Agree with both previous posts 10/20/2006

The staff sux.. atleast the sales rep I was put with. I walked away from my meeting with him thinking, ""this guys a f*cking retard"". Just in case you are lucky enough to meet him, his name is Sone, short little asian dude. On the plus side, I went there on a suggestion from a friend that this place had the hottest chix of all the 24 hour fitness centers and he didn't let me down. I just turned 30 but that wont keep me from going back. Pros: Eye candy Cons: Sone more

great facility 11/9/2005

I like this 24 hour fitness location the best. It is HUGE! There are a lot of machines, so I don't have to stand around waiting like I have to at most of the 24 hour fitness location I"ve been to. more

Horrendous Staff 5/5/2005

Staff, especially front counter staff, is horrendously rude. Serious customer service training would be my recommendation to this club management. Staff was not helpful, in fact detrimental to establishing good customer relations. In fact, I was having problems with my previous membership and OFFERED to sign up another contract, but to my utmost surprise, staff was not the least bit responsive to my offer. I would definitely take my business else where. Pros: New Facility Cons: Staff, Staff, Staff more

24 Hour Fitness 2/23/2005

This is a great facility. They provide parking validation for M-Sat. and on Sundays there is no need for it. The facility is upstairs and down with a variety of classes. The only downfall which you will find with any good gym is that it is crowded. There is a Latin Aerobics class taught there that is phenomenal. It gives you a taste of salsa and cha cha dancing, among others. The staff is mostly friendly with that gym feel. Another downfall is that out of town guests are not able to try the facility out. more

What can I say - WOW This is the best fitness facility I've ever been to. The place is huge! It has every known piece of equipment you could look for and it has so many pieces of equipment that you're almost guaranteed no waiting in line. There are a wide variety of cardio classes to choose from at a variety of time frames. The staff are friendly, knowledgable and helpful. And the prices are pretty decent. They even run specials where if you pay for a year in advance, they'll give you a 2 to 3 yearmembership. Not too shabby! more
