Remodeled and Good Home Cookin' 6/25/2007

Huey remodeled and put more windows in. Removed the overhead glasses hanger and the wall north of the bar. The result is an open airy and cool wooden lofted ceiling. He also moved the back door so it is not so dark and hidden. The food is top-notch and reasonably priced (under $10). It's pretty much the same crowd, blue collar working stiffs (meant in the most endearing way) and friendly banter and the bartenders are friendly. The biggest difference is the open area, nice, and the food, not just frozen Heggie's anymore!!\r \r I used to live near here and visited weekly. Now I live farther away and want to go there more often! Bring CASH, they do not take Plastic ( I'm pretty sure I saw an ATM ). \r \r Also, the map here is incorrect. It's in the north-west corner of Hwy 36 and 61. From 61 going north, you pass it by to the cross-over about a quarter mile north. It sits in the parking lot of the Northernaire Motel (if you look up the motel, the map is correct)\r \r Anyways, Stop on in. The meatloaf is as good, if not better, as mom's. Drinks are priced right and there are Darts and a pool table and a couple of video games. Check it out!! more
