Simply wonderful food. Every time we eat here, it's relaxing, friendly and tasty! They start with a hot towel and a few free pieces of the sushi chef's whim. They have a ginger dressing that is light and perfect. The gyoza (fried dumplings) are hot, crunchy and savory. The sauce that comes with it is a perfect blend of salt and tart. I'm very specific about my sushi, and they've never made it wrong. The salmon is slightly sweet and buttery, just like salmon should be. My wife doesn't care for seaweed, so they make hers without, something not every place will do. One of the owners took the time to explain to my wife that they had an alternate to the seaweed... I can't remember what it was, but my wife is particular about her sushi too, so she went without! The tuna roll with avocado is always creamy and firm, perfect texture and flavor. They have a stir fried rice that is amazing! It's light and flavorful, with crunchy veggies and the chicken is how you want it to be, not the stuff you get from delivery places. The decor is not overwhelming, and it's a very relaxing environment. The soundtrack is exclusively asian, but if you listen, you can hear some songs you know... in another language! It's fun to try to pick one out. There are raised "rooms" where you can take off your footwear and sit on a pillow, true japanese style. We usually opt for one of these, as it's quite comfy. Never a wait and the service is impeccable. I'm surprised that more people don't know about Koi... I'm sure it's just a matter of time! I've recommended it to all my friends and family! Pros: service, food, ambiance... all of the above Cons: visibility... tucked in a strip mall
