I had my first appointment today with Dr. Miller. My experience was outstanding in every respect.. The office look and feel was open, inviting and comfortable. Simple check-in process, even with the standard paperwork protocols. Before I saw Dr. Miller, I was efficiently and comfortably taken through two different testing/exam stations. Emanuel, who was personable, instructive, and knowledgeable, discussed my medical history, with a focus on my eyes, and administered some of the basic eye exams.
I then went to visit with Liz who did a couple of computer assisted exams. Liz was also responsible for explaining the costs, benefits and options related to cataract surgery, if indeed I needed and wanted such. Liz was outstanding in her careful attention to my specific eye needs and issues. She explained everything clearly and with an obvious level of care for me as a patient. I felt like I was receiving a very high level of diagnostic care from Liz and not like I was just another person being "processed" through a system.
After I finished up with Liz I was seen by Dr. Miller. You will not find a more personable, kind, and bright ophthalmologist in the Valley. He explained the results of my tests in easy to understand, but in no way condescending, terms He was thoughtful in explaining some of the more nuanced aspects of each eye and what I could expect from surgery and what I could not reasonably expect. There was zero pressure for me to have surgery - all options were on the table for me to consider.
When I left I felt as though I had the most comprehensive, thorough eye exam I have ever experienced. It was also the most pleasant and the most caring "eye center" I have ever been to in all my years (I'm 68). I offer my highest recommendation to Dr. Miller, Liz, Emanuel and team at the Advanced Valley Eye Associates in Davis
