Review content:
I purchased a great car pre-owned car fron Infiniti of Kirkland at a reasonable price, so I really can't complain. However, I could definitely tell by the two managers I worked with that I was buying a used car. The primary salesperson was very courteous and proactive, but too proactive in tat he processed a loan application which hit my credit report before we had even discussed pricing. Definitely did not appreciate that as that credit inquiry cannot be undone - his reaction after I voiced my dissatisfaction was to the effect of 'I thought we had a deal...' Not pleased with that. Additionally, he had prepared a comparables search using Autotrader prior to my arrival, but the search was not a relevant search to the car I was buying. Either he assumed I wouldn't notice, he incorrectly assumedI was looking to buy ANY model of 2010 Civic, or he does not know how to effectively use Autotrader (you don't find Civic Hybrids by searching for Civics with the keyword Hybrid; his results turned up all Civics, NO hybrids). He didn't have a coherent response when I called him on this either - this is really off-putting in a number of ways. In negotiating on price, their argument was predicated on the presumption the Kelly blue Book does not take into account the premium on cars that have only been on the west coast b/c they should be free of rust issues. Not the greatest argument I have heard, but okay. The worst thing they did was show me a transaction record for what they paid the customer for the car on trade-in: $13,800. KBB puts the trade-in value of this car in Excellent condition at $11,914, yet they looked me in the eye and told me they gave 13,800 for it and they would not lose money on the car. In this reality, they are either A) lying or B) gave this customer inflated trade-in to make their new car purchase work they way they wanted. At the end of the day, I purchased the vehicle because it was a very rare trim package that I valued with low miles, so it was a reasonable value to me. However, this dealership offers a poor and disrespectful experience.
