Review content:
After reading the good reviews this dermatology office had received online, I thought I would give them a call when I needed to have a ""mole"" removed which was causing some irritation. I was prepared with the online patient forms when I arrived so I was seen very quickly which was a nice start to my visit. The doctor was very courteous and knowledgeable and after I explained what I wanted done, he very quickly proceeded to remove the ""mole"". Right after he removed it, laser in hand, he asked me about another mole, ""while he was there.."" I said sure, even though it wasn't causing any problems, then a third mole. I left the office within 15 minutes of my arrival with three small bandaids on. A couple of weeks later, I received an invoice. I nearly fell on the ground. I went in for a simple procedure which was partially covered by my insurance, and I received a bill for all the additional extras he talked me into, plus lab tests for each one. What I thought was going to cost me less than $150 is now $700. I tried calling to dispute the fact that I never wanted or approved any of the additional work needless to say to have the samples sent off to the lab for testing. The doctor made it sound like he was doing me a favor for the 30 seconds of extra laser work. They refused to budge and I have refused to pay for the services that were not approved, so now they have turned it over to collection. The collection fees, it is now up to about $1,000 and negatively impacting my credit. Please take my advice, avoid Affiliated Dermatology and their shady business practice. They are not looking for long term clients, simply an opprotunity to milk your insurance and send you off to collection.
