Review content:
I went to see their selection of puppies and was immediately concerned upon arrival. Then it got worse. I had driven a long distance, based on positive reviews and the professional looking website. There is a penned off area to the side with possibly hundreds of barking dogs. The area is marked authorized personnel only, seemingly for a reason. There are two teenaged employees who bring animals in and out for families to play in a way too small room. Some of the dogs are visibly traumatized. The staff were trying to be helpful, but they were clearly lacking knowledge about the details of the pets. I wanted to rescue the dogs I liked, but I couldn't see paying 800 dollars apiece for puppies whose treatment at the kennel had been so grossly substandard. In my search for a good pet, I have learned that even the places that advertise well aren't necessarily as advertised. While I'm sure many people have gotten good pets from Laughlin Kennels, it is likely the ""after"" love and care and sheer law of large numbers that brought them healthy pups. This kennel is a sad statement for what the puppy market has become -- the opposite of humane and driven by greed and carelessness.
Pros: Large selection of dogs
Cons: Poor conditions, over-crowding, poorly cared for animals
