Review content:
This daycare is owned and managed by two extremely unprofessional women who lack proficiency in education and have absolutely no interpersonal skills.
If you're a parent who asks a lot of questions, like myself, you will be left unsatisfied with their responses. They're in the business of supplying quick standard answers- which in our case manifested into nothing but LIES.
We were told all teachers have degrees (either AA or BA), yet my daughter's teachers barely spoke English. When I asked what precautions were being taken in respect to the Swine Flu outbreak, I was told ""the media is making this more of a problem...June is flu season""....WHAT??? JUNE flu season????
Instead, as a professional, I should have been assured all precautions were being taken such as washing hands, sanitizing toys, etc.
The teachers are really sweet, but they have no say whatsoever aside from being nothing more than babysitters. All my daughter did was color and play.
Anytime I questioned anything, which I often did, I was barked at with extreme attitude. At this point, I had to remove my daughter from their care.
Education is a business of partnership. It was clear these ladies do not realize this, their main concern is filling seats ($$)... at any length. They become very irritated when a parent doesn't accept the ""okie-doke"" of an answer they're so used to handing out.
I wanted to share some of our experiences in detail because when I researched the school I found one complaint, but I dismissed it thinking it was just one person. However, that's all it takes is one person. ""Where there's smoke, there's usually fire"".
I would NEVER recommend Precious Spirit Child Care, Inc. in New Hyde Park to any parent and/or guardian.
Cons: Poor administration, non-educational program
