Review content:
I hate to complain but I have to go with another reviewer's thoughts when talking about rude staff that don't want to be there. I had had a terrible morning argument with my husband, a result of pregnancy hormones, and was really looking forward to my massage. I arrived 45 minutes early thinking that I could relax and read before my treatment considering that I am carrying an extra 30 pounds, until next month at least! The receptionist barely greeted me and practically chastised me for being early. My belly nearly popping out of my shirt, and the 80+ degree weather getting to me, I was looking for a more understanding repsonse, especially at an "urban oasis"! "You're REALLY early," the charming 'I know how to get more business' receptionist scolded me. I responded, "Well, you do have somewhere I can sit right?" Gulp. I guess I was interrupting her lunch hour or whatever it was she was doing for her job. She unhappily led me back to the sitting area and did not tell me where to change or keep my clothes, but did offer me some warm water.
My masseuse was very friendly and understanding and the massage was good, however...I realize that pregnant people don't come in for massages everyday, but c'mon, you have to have more than one pillow in the house to offer them! My arms falling asleep and my back almost in worse condition than before the massage, I wish that I had researched a little more as to where to go for a relaxing, simple urban getaway where I don't need to be treated specially, but a little understanding would help! ....or at least make me want to go back!
Pros: friendly masseuse, good music, plenty of magazines (if they let you stay to read them!)
Cons: Remember "No soup for you!" from Seinfeld? The receptionist is his sister! warm water, no pillows or props for "special" situations
