Review content:
Before adopting my new cat, Abby, I was a huge fan of Molly's Place. Since her adoption I have had three different veterinarians (all from different practices) NOT recommend the rescue.
My vet told me that a lot of the cats that leave there will suffer from upper respiratory infections on and off for the rest of their lives. Even though they are giving their sick animals penicillin my vet told me they are still not doing enough and the sick animals should be quarantined. Someone else on here said the animals that come in are already sick, which is false. They get sick from the illnesses the other animals are ""passing around.""
My cat left with pink eye and an upper respiratory infection. She's been on three different drugs and is still suffering from the symptoms. I'm starting to worry that I won't be able to afford her medical expenses.
Also Molly's Place told me she was a year and a half, but after examining her my vet told me she is probably around 6-8 months old. This is not a major issue but I am wondering how they got a micro chipped animal's information messed up.
As for the staff they do come off as rude but it's understandable due to their stressful working conditions. It was a mess trying to check out with my cat because they were trying to juggle so many other adoptions at the same time. Also when my boy friend was asking a question one of the volunteers put her hand in his face and shushed him.
I once volunteered there for only a day because I didn't not find the environment friendly.
Pros: Get to know the animal better before adoption
Cons: Illnesses, unorganized
