Call me spoiled but when I stay in a hotel that cost Almost $400 for 2 nights I want to be pampered. My husband and I wanted to escape from the dreary economy for a weekend and forget our worries... to no avail. I called a few hours in advance to book our stay (It was a five hour drive.) The guy on the phone said that our suit had french doors that opened up into a balcony with a gorgeous view of the mountains a jacuzzi and a king size bed. I called the front desk to ask about getting some extra pillows in our room the lady who answered said that those type of things are handled by the day crew and she would try to find something. When we arrived the guy had taken down my credit card wrong and my reservations had been cancelled. They fixed that and got us into our sweet but we had to haul our own luggage up at 2am in the morning I guess that is only handled by the day crew as well? When we reached our top floor we were greeted by a blinding bright green and the room was no better with an awful yellow to match. My 2 year old liked the rainbow wall paper in the bathrooms though. I opend up our french doors into not a balcony but bars! And a beautiful view of... a parking lot, roof tops and a hill with dirt and some trees. So we went to bed and woke up to maids laughing and talking in the hall ways and slamming doors. My husband talked to a manager and he was told that it wasn't the maids but when my husband opened our door maids were the only people he saw. They never mentioned on the phone, when I told them I had a two year old that they were one of 2 casinos in the entire town that would allow children in. There are no shows or programs to take the family to. There is a museum in the town but it was closed until oprah season whenever that is. But there is a thrift store. Any way we went to the buffet for breakfast and lunch for lack of options. At breakfast the server spilled drinks all over the man walking behind me and at lunch another server dropped all of the dirty plates all over my chair and table. Luckily the server was there to see my husband take a bite of his tough and dry prime rib only to bite into a piece of shell from an oyster that got lodged into the roof of his mouth...OUCH! The emergency guy was over to the table in no time to make sure my husband was okay but he had a hard time eating anything the rest of the weekend. My daughter was sitting on my lap when she peed on my only good pair of pants (you know she's 2 and potty training) I called down to the front desk to ask if they provided cleaning services for my pants, I guess it was a silly request because the girl at the front desk seemed almost annoyed that I would even ask. Oh by the way there our several buttons on the phone... Valet, house keeping, guest service.... don't bother they all go to front desk and when they pick up they always seems to be hesitant to help you like your bothering them. And the cleanliness of the place is highly questionable. I wish I would have brought some comet with me and a dust cloth. Oh well at least the hot tub was big enough for my daughter to swim around in and there is a TV in the bathroom so she could watch cartoons while she was swimming. 1 star for the hot tub.
Pros: Only thing that saved us was the hot tub
Cons: the cons were customer service, nothing to do except gamble
