Went to Liquid Lounge for the first time last night at 8pm. Surprised by how small the place was when walking in, but the eclectic atmosphere & relaxing ambiance quickly won us over.
The menu had a great selection even though it was kind of hard to see in the dim lighting (used my Blackberry to read it). After making our selections, we sat back & ordered drinks while waiting.
The specialty drinks menu was overpriced. For example, a dirty martini with belvedere was $10. I went with with a ""well"" vodka dirty instead (smirnoff). Forgot to ask it's cost .. but expected it to be close to a Ruth Chris ""well"" dirty martini w/ smirnoff ($6.00). WRONG. $9. Should have splurged an extra buck for the belvedere (lol)
After waiting .. and drinking .. and waiting more .. and drinking even more .. our sushi FINALLY arrived around 9:30pm. The kicker was that the place wasn't really that busy when we arrived - although it started filling up an hour after we got there.
The one waitress & two chefs behind the bar - who seemed busy when we arrived - looked flat out overwhelmed as the place filled up with more patrons.
Bottom line: Great, great sushi. The Serpent & Mexican were our two personal favorites. However, don't be in a hurry & if y'all order mixed drinks, keep in mind that they cost as much (if not more) than the food.
Hmmm .. maybe that's why they took so long to bring out our sushi? I wonder ..
Pros: Excellent Sushi, Great Atmosphere
Cons: Very Slow Service, Expensive Bar Drinks
