Review content:
R&S took me for hundreds of dollars. I was sold a new pressure switch and told that I should not touch the pressure settings on it because they were set to where they needed to be. After installing the switch, my spa was still not functioning. I called R&S and was told that they needed to send a technician to my home and it would cost me $75. They said they would need my credit card number over the phone before they could send the tech. The next morning, the tech came to my home and immediately tried to sell me a $250 circulation pump. I stuck my arm in the spa and told him that the pump was still working, I could feel it. He explained that it was not working good enough to engage the pressure switch. I told him that the spa is only $150, 2 person hot tub, and the manufacturer told me that the pump is weaker than most because of the size of the hot tub. He tried to sell me a $250 pump until he found out that he did not have the connector for it and could not cut the wires as it would void the warrantee on his pump. He was ready to leave when I asked him to look at the heater and make sure it was working. I watched him turn the dial on the pressure switch and then I heard it engage.. this fixed the hot tub. I was really upset that they made me hire their tech to come and turn the knob on a switch that they told me not to touch. Why would I spend $75 for a tech to come for 10 minutes and turn a knob when I could have just turned it myself, had they not told me to never touch it? The tech left my home and the next morning I got a call from Dan over at R&S. He told me in a voicemail that my charge would be $150 . $75 for the visit, and $75 for an hour of labor. Immediately, I called him back and explained that the tech was only here for 10 minutes and I should not be paying for labor since he didn't do anything but turn a knob and try to sell me a circulation pump to replace one that was working just fine. He told me that the minimum charge is $150. The night before he said the charge was $75 but now he went on to try and explain the cost of overhead for these sort of things. These guys lied to me to get my credit card number. They told me the cost was one price then then charged me another. They sold me a filter that was incompatible and lied to me about the right one not being manufactured anymore. They sold me a pressure switch and told me not to change the settings, then charged me $150 to have somebody come out and turn a knob to change the setting themselves.
