Max is great. I got to know him through a colleague. He is very straight forward and honest about the condition of your car. I had to bring in my first car that I bought at a rip-off used car dealer called Americar Enterprises in Mar Vista, because it was in such critical condition that it needed so much fixing - I negotiated with the shady owner of Americar Enterprises to trade-in with some other cars in their inventory, and took them to Max for inspection. Apparently all the cars I brought to him were almost-lemon cars, but Max didn't charge me for the inspections. I should have brought the first car to him in the first place, but I was in such a rush and didn't have time - until I noticed all the problems about the car. I decided to fix the car so that at least it will run and work fine so that I can sell it, and decided to buy a different car from a private seller on craigslist. Of course, I took the car to Max and he inspected the car - again for no charge. What's funny is that the seller who came with me to Max's place was very cautious about taking a car to a mechanic for inspection - because although he was very confident about the condition of his car, he had bad experiences with mechanics ruining his car when inspecting it. But after having met Max and known his professional attitude that day, he was trusting him like I did. I found Yuki's through the Car Talk website (it was recommended as one of the best places in L.A.), and I could not agree more wholeheartedly. They were honest about what did and did not need to be done, quite the opposite of the normal 'maximize the bill' approach most car places take. I have, sadly, since moved to Northern California ... but was inspired to make this post when, upon my maintenance light coming on, I called Yuki's to see what they thought would or would not have to be done -- and they gave me an answer significantly more satisfying and informative than the new place I've found up here in the Bay. If it weren't so far, I'd definitely still bring my car to Yuki's :) Pros: Quality, honesty, pricing, ability to explain needed fixes in layman's terms more

My 2000 Nissan Sentra needed a repair and I was sick and tired of getting ripped off around town. I looked on cartalk and found numerous reviews for Yuki Import Service in West Hollywood. Max is very honest and upfront about what needs to be fixed. I didnt feel ripped off or cheated whatsoever, and the prices were decent and fair. Definately better than dealership pricing. He also checked everything out in my car as well. He definately treats his customers well and I see why. I highly recommend this one of a kind place. Yuki Import Service rocks.
