We had our wedding here in 2007 after making an agreement with Carroll, the owner, to have the procession come down through her B & B and out onto her beautiful front gazebo area. At the time of contract we rented the entire house and guest house for the day of the wedding and that night, no stipulations were put into the contract, no fine print.
However, the day OF the wedding, lots of things blew up because of Carroll, the owner. Namely, she wanted to be involved in the entire thing, hovering over all my friends and family like a hawk.
* She wouldn't let us use her kitchen to cook the food (she told us this the day before.. AFTER preparations were made to use THAT kitchen).
* She wouldn't let guests use any of the bathrooms in the B & B fearing a ""backup"", ALL guests (including the ones who were over 80 years old) were forced to walk an acre down to the outhouse far away from the house.
* My nephew brought his 5 month old baby, which she said she'd hold for him for a few minutes while he went and grabbed something. Later on, Carroll told me that it's lucky she didn't charge me for ""child care""... just for holding a baby?
* She kept hovering over both nephews not wanting them to touch anything.... both of them polite adults.
* Did I mentioned she stuck herself in the middle of everything? During the entire preparations, she was there in every relatives face, stressed out and causing everyone a lot of grief.
* Later on, when I asked her if I could see the contract I had signed with her she wouldn't send it. Asking again, she wouldn't provide it.
Pros: The location is very gorgeous for a wedding
Cons: The owner, Carroll, is overbearing and a nightmare
