My family needed new dentist due to job transfer. Dr. Hrstic was highly recommended by my coworkers. At our appointment we were vary happy with Dr. Hrstic and her staff!!!! She took time to explain few different treatment options for my dental plan and was very patient in answering all my questions.\r The experience that we had at West End Smiles was more than a great !!!! \r I will be the one referring next patient to Dr. Hrstic. more

AVOID! Dishonest billing practices! I provided my insurance card and they checked my insurance. I even told them my insurance had changed since I had last been there - yet they still referenced my old insurance information, provided a preventative service that wasn't covered and now refuse to acknowledge their mistake. My insurance company stated that the dentist office never even checked with them before proceeding with the uncovered x-rays. Even after trying to talk it over with them, I am now having to pay for their mistake and I am NOT happy about it. Finding a new dentist immediately! Avoid this practice! more

bad business practices 5/17/2010

(In a nutshell: they charge you one amount, perform the procedure, and then send you a bill a month later saying, ""oops, we were wrong, you owe us $100's more) The office and staff are seemingly great. The doctor is very friendly, but I was fooled. I gave them my insurance information, and they were supposed to call my insurance and verify what my payment would be. She did this BEFORE my procedure was performed and very confidently gave me the expenses of my procedure. NOT A QUOTE. She said, ""This is what you will pay, and this is what your insurance will cover."" A month after my visit, I received a bill in the mail for a large balance I supposedly owed them. When I called to ask why they had told me one amount and then now were charging me a different amount AFTER THE PROCEDURE WAS PERFORMED, and AFTER I HAD ALREADY PAID, I was told, ""We called the insurance company and they only cover a certain amount."" Well, that would have been great to know BEFORE you decided to go ahead and charge me ONE amount, and continue on with the procedure. They should have called my insurance company, like any other doctors office does, before we agreed on the amount and before my procedure was performed. I read another review from a patient saying they did the same thing to him. Be wary... Pros: seemingly friendly doctor and staff Cons: unethical business practives more

The employees here are hired off of myspace! 7/21/2009

WOW!!!! what happend? i move back to Nashville and this office has really changed! As far as the office goes, great upgrade, but the staff downgrade! I dont know where the dentist got these employees but she needs to rethink her options. I got an x ray, and when the young girl came in to give me my results, she was like oh my god, what happend...blah blah blah..you have 5 cavaties. and she was asking me all these questions what have i changed in my diet? i told her i switched to diet sodas, she just about had a heart attack! she was trying to tell me not to drink them, but come on people if i have cavaties, thats why im here, so fix them! i didnt ask for a drama queen! she was so ridiculous! anyway i dont know what they charge now for a cleaning but its more than my car note. oh by the way i went to another dentist for a second opinion and i didnt have any cavaties! hmmmm very strange! I have a lot of more complaints but i would have to write a essay! There are more bad reviews on here than good! hint hint people! Pros: nice office & location Cons: Tacky staff, poor office skills, very pricey! more

great staff, very honest 5/14/2009

I would like to start out by saying, YOU CANT PLEASE EVERYONE. But this business dern sure tries. Its a shame how people are so willing to leave bad comments, but people who are satisfied dont think to say anything good. West End Smiles is a great office with a great staff. I travel way out of my way just to go there. \r The hygenist marked several cavities that I had. But when Dr. Hrstic examined more fully, it turns out I didnt have as many as they initially thought. She also notified me of problem areas and told me as long as I continue to floss, I should be fine. \r I appreciate their honesty. They were even able to work out a payment plan with me being as my insurance is only a DISCOUNT program. I just want to give kudos to this establishment. \r And as far as the other people with billing problems, dont blame it on Wendy. She just does her job, and only works with what the insurance companies give her. Please don't give this company a black eye. Five them a chance and you will see how great they are! Pros: honest more

Poor office staff, too expensive, not organized, poor choice of employees 8/13/2008

First i have been going to this office for 5 years, it was owned by another dentist.I loved this dentist! but she sold the place to another dentist which is fine, but we should have been informed! AT first i was fine with the place because the new owner kept the old staff, so everything was good for a couple of years. Now everytime i go in, we have a new hygienist and thats every 6 months. And on top of that i think the dentist has hired a couple of her family members to work there and you know how well that usually turns out. My jobs insurance is one of the best you can have unless you go here, x rays and the cleaning and the office visit are supposed to be covered 100% but since they charge so much i always have a balance! also when they send you the reminder card in the mail it never matches the appointment time they gave you 6 months ago. but the final straw was when i had a appointment at 2:00 p.m. way after lunch, i was sitting in the waiting room till about 2:50 when one of the office people walked in (the dentist family member) with a dairy queen blizzard, there was no sorry for being late, all she said was i was craving this. so thats it, i will never go back! I will say this, i do like the dentist here but her staff is so bad, its not worth my time and i always leave really mad!!!! Pros: Nice decor, Good location Cons: Poor staff, too expensive, bad employees more

Unethical Business Practices - Should be avoided 6/26/2008

Dear Readers, The following Dental Office, has a very unethical staff that is in charge of Billing. Prior to deciding to get any dental work performed I extensively consulted myself with the Billing Manager, who assured me that her cost estimate that I would have to pay out of pocket would be according to our agreement, potentially $10-20 more or less. My total out of pocket fees after insurance were approximately $450, and they send me an additional bill after the services were done for $350 which is 75% more. After explaining myself to the Billing Manager, she hanged up the phone on me and forwarded my bill to the collections agency which charged me another $150 bringing my additional bill to a total of $498.50 which is more than 110% of what I was originally quoted and paid in full at the time of my visit. My bill was barely 30 days past due. The services performed were O.K., but their unethical business practices of quoting one price to consumers and then ripping them off for more money, due to their negligence in checking the actual cost is unacceptable.\r Please be aware of their actions and be prepared that if you decide to have services performed through them, the price you get quoted prior to the services, might not be the price you will end up paying!\r BE AWAREEE!!!!!\r Pros: Office Manger behaves very unethically, Quoting people incorrectly to lure them and then charging severely more. Cons: Friendly Dentla Hygenist more
