My husband earned an editing certification from Watkins. He works as an AVID editor now, and he recently completed a feature-length independent film. It was his Watkins training that gave him the skills required to make a movie: directing actors, setting lighting, composing shots, sound mixing, ad infinitum. Watkins requires its students to make several short films, and it's this hands-on training that makes the difference.
The film school is part of Watkins Art & Design Institute, a century-old creative arts school. Watkins also has an interior design program, fine arts, graphic design and photography programs.
