Let's go Caps 8/19/2005

The Washington Capitals were and still are a great hockey club. While they seem to have been demolished the year before the lockout, that sell off was remarkably foresighted. Credit goes to GM George McPhee and owner Ted Leonsis. Mr. Leonsis has a reputation as one of the greatest owners in sports. He granted my son a telephone interview for a 10th grade English project. Thanks Ted! more

Great Florist shop in Dupont Circle 8/18/2005

The Third Day is a great florist and plant shop. This place is located in Dupont Circle, on P Street and 20th street. The store has a great selection of plans and flowers, often carrying some harder to find specimens. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The store provides great service. It's a nice place to browse and perhaps get a housewarming gift. more

Quaint, Quiet, Quality 8/15/2005

This small florist on the corner of 20th and P in Dupont Circle is the perfect stop for a high-quality, smaller selection of house plants. It is not a fancy florist that features a wide selection of flowers and bouquets (while they do offer it in limited quantities though), but rather a place to shop for well-potted plants and plant and gardening advice. Prices are a bit high, but not much more than you would expect from a neighborhood florist. more
