Editorial review from Citysearch 1/15/2015

During my involvement with Westie Rescue, I discovered this clinic. They have a team of excellent veterinarians. Their support staff is amazing. I have 6 rescued dogs that receive fabulous care from Dr. Rothstein. The techs and front office personnel are always available and friendly. Their prices are fair and Dr. Rothstein gives our pets his personal attention and expert skill. He's the best. We will never go anywhere else. more

BEST CLINIC, BEST VETS, BEST STAFF in town. I would only trust my two German Shepherds to the very best. \r I now live on the south end of the Springs and gladly drive to their clinic on the north end. My dogs love everyone there and I think they are by far the kindest and friendliest Vets and staff ever! \r \r As far as the negative comments on this page.....they must have the wrong Vet office or they are just grumpy people. more

Thank you Briargate Vets 3/27/2012

Once again I brought my boxer Buttercup in for an emergency and our regular vet Dr Rosthien was out. Dr Flenneken came out and immediately took her back. He was so caring, professional, and knowledgable. I have always loved Dr Rosthien, but now have a second favorite. The front staff are always very kind and reassuring and know us by name when we walk in the door. You guys are the best, would not go anywhere else. Bev and Gary Bain more

Love this clinic! 11/25/2011

We have spent a great deal of time in this clinic with our two boxers, and would never go anywhere else. Dr Seth Rostein is amazing, and was able to diagnose our Buttercup with Lupus when our vet in Alaska said her pain was from torn ACL's in both back legs. we have always been able to get right in for emergencies, and all of the doctors there are caring, compassionate, knowledgeable, and wonderful. thank you Briargate from the Bain and Zabel family more

Best Vets... wish they would take care of me. 8/3/2011

I have had 4 dogs, all of which I have been taking to Dr Flennigan (Flennikan?) for several years. Not only do the dogs actually LIKE pulling up to the vet building but you can tell he loves taking care of them. My german shepard has had severe hip dysplasgia since he was 6mo old. He was very upfront with me about his quality of life and making decisions as time went on. Luckily we are able to keep him out of pain and loving life. He also will not allow anyone to touch his paws or legs because of the pain he's had in the past and we have to sedate him to clip his claws... yes, clip his nails. However he is much more comfortable, less traumatized and has less hip dislocations from fighting. \r \r My other dog is actually my service dog and she is well cared for by all the vets there. We usually see Dr Flenniken for them all. However when she had a distended stomach which we thought was twisted I had just started a new job in Aurora and couldn't afford to pay for her to be there overnight for observation or to bring her back in the morning. It was taken care of and luckily she was ok. They always help me financially when it comes to treatment and medications for the animals, the ARE NOT lining their pockets with money. \r \r They helped with the passing of both our other dogs and allowing that to happen at home, comfortably. They are AWESOME, I have seen other vets but these are the only ones I trust. more

We love our vet 7/19/2011

I'm actually shocked at the negative reviews on here. We tried several vets after we moved to the Springs 11 years ago and believe me when I say that there is no comparison to the quality of care we have received at Briargate Veterinary Clinic. When we go in, we are always greeted promptly and with courtesy by the staff at the front desk. We rarely have to wait for any length of time before we are ushered back to a room. We typically see Dr. Flenniken and are always so impressed with his professionalism and the genuine care and concern he displays. We never feel rushed and he always takes time to thoroughly examine our pets (we have 4) and answer any questions we may have. He makes my husband and I - as well as our furkids - feel comfortable. In addition to Dr. Flenniken, we have seen several other vets at Briargate when a last-minute appointment was necessary for one reason or another, and we have been pleased with each one. Honestly, I can't say enough good things about this place. more

High Quality Care! 6/1/2011

We have been going to Briargate Veterinary Clinic for the past 6 years. The veterinary staff is excellent! We have seen Dr. Moody, Dr. Tuthill, Dr. Flenninken and Dr. Rothstein. They are all amazing, caring, and skilled. Dr. Rothstein is our favorite vet. I like his matter of fact manner. The front desk has always been cheerful and polite, sometimes it does get a little crazy but they handle it well. We've always gotten great care, our dog loves the staff. more

My Two Cents 5/22/2011

These negative reviews are getting a little out of control. My family and I have been taking our countless animals to this clinic since they opened (about 13 years ago), and they have never been anything but caring, compassionate, and trustworthy. Dr. Flenniken has been our go-to veterinarian and has treated everything from seizures to the successful removal of the lobe from the liver of one of my dogs due to a benign tumor; he even made a house-call that same night to check on her progress. She lived another two years until she had a stroke. He also once stepped out of his job's requirements and visited one of my dogs who was having status epilepticus at the emergency vet clinic after-hours. In that same light, we have also seen Dr. Mooney, Dr. Rothstein, and Dr. Tuthill on multiple occasions, and all three have never ceased to be anything but helpful and understanding. That being said, if no one at the clinic can help us with any of our animals' illnesses, they will not hesitate in referring us to specialists who can (i.e. - orthopedic surgery, rehab, even another clinic - and not North Academy, their sister clinic - where we could take our ferret for his adrenal tumor). Furthermore, in defense of the rest of Briargate's staff, we have never entered this clinic without a happy greeting from the receptionists and veterinary technicians, and in the few times we have had to say goodbye to our animals - due to illness brought upon by old age, might I add - they have always been incredibly caring and accommodating, allowing us to stay and say goodbye for as long as we wish. If you are being treated rudely, perhaps you should reevaluate YOUR presentation to the staff. Finally, in defense of the ""muzzle situation"" another reviewer has written about, we always ask or suggest a muzzle for our animals if we feel that there may be a problem with any procedure. Muzzling is not harmful to your animal whatsoever, and bear in mind that the safety of the staff should be foremost because, regardless of how sweet your animals may be at home, it's perfectly logical for them to react adversely in unfamiliar situations that could prove to be uncomfortable for them, as most veterinary procedures are. There have been several instances of vet techs being bitten by ""sweet little darlings"" who would ""never do that at home..."" Overall, this clinic is wonderful, and we would never dream of taking our animals elsewhere. more

Worst vet in the springs 5/2/2011

The Staff in this clinic are not taking accountability for they actions or mistakes. They seem to be covering for one another. I came to this conclusion after a misdiagnosis with my female cat. i took her in for a simple spay and was told she had feline lukemia.Thank goodness took her for a second opinion, it was negative, then still not sure, and as i love my baby i went for a third, it was also negative. Briargate Veternary clinic costed my all those trips to add up to a large sum of money. more

Dog killers 4/29/2011

After taking our sick little man ( Little D ) to this vet all his life and getting him treated for a bone problem for 9 years that turns out in the end that it was a brain tumor that he has obviously had since he was a pup. The malpractice of this vet is uncanny. They put our dog through pain all this time just to be able to line there pockets with money this is disgraceful. One way or the other they will pay for D's death. Weather it be in court or when they get put down themselves they will have to answer to God for ruthlessly hurting one of his creation. more

Worst experience we've ever had. Will never return 4/29/2011

Briargate Vet Clinic misdiagnosed our male Maltese repeatedly, and by several different vets there. Had some simple tests have been ordered earlier, perhaps our ""Little Family Member"" would still be alive. It surprises me how much the vets try to protect and cover the others mistakes. I dare anyone to try sending them an email..the rude receptionist will ignore it, as will the vets. I strongly recommend to anyone considering Briargate Vet Clinic for the care of their pet, to seriously reconsider. Don't risk the life of your pet. Ask to see the filthy area where the pets stay as well. You'll be shocked. We will never use them as health care providers again. You would be wise to do the same. more

great vets and great animal care 4/28/2011

The vets and the staff at Briargate Vet clinic are excellent and very caring. I have taken all my animals to them and have had excellent care. We have been very very happy with this clinic and plan on a very long relationship with them\r more

Believe the bad reviews 2/2/2011

I just recently moved here and was trying to find somewhere close to my new place. I researched and saw the bad reviews also a few good ones and I said to my husband. Let's just give it the benefit of the doubt. U never know...so I took my pet which I feel is like another child to me and my husband. We get there the desk was very nice however the tech Dawn comes out with a muzzle. Places it on my baby and once its on she grabs him by the back of his neck and takes him back. You could hear him screaming. She took forever and we were so worried. Normally for 2yrs we have always been able to go back and hold him n yes he would shake BUT he was totally traumatized. She said when we bought him back we need to bring him early to sedate him. Come on lady. To do his nails. O and by the way. Dawn kept on saying. She. Her. LADY he is a boy. Just believe the ads. Ask around. Ask questions. I was in tears and kept telling my dog I was so sorry. I was really sad. more

Thank you 4/27/2010

The office has been providing my dog several services over a period of time. They discovered an overcharge to my account and credited my account. I was grateful for their honesty.\r \r Their staff have also been very patient and kind with both my dog and me.\r \r Pros: Great care given to my pets more

Wouldn't go anywhere else. 12/8/2009

I was raised in a family where no one agreed with any one person. The exception to this was Briargate Veterinary Clinic. And though my parents prefer Dr. Mooney (due to one of their border collies being fear aggressive toward men), I prefer Dr. Rothstein, and recently have been given light to one of their other vets, Dr. Tuthill. All vets are very knowledgeable in their profession and neither myself (who has 2 dogs) nor my parents (who have 4 dogs) has had any negative experiences with briargate. I would recommend this clinic to anyone. more

Dr. Flennikan is the best Vet around! 11/19/2009

Dr. Flennikan is very knowledgeable and the most caring vet we have ever met. We had to move away from Colorado Springs a few years ago, but we travel 600 miles to the Springs every year so that are dogs can be seen by Dr. Flennikan. more

Wonderful vets, lousy and rude front desk 10/16/2009

I'm sorry the people at the front desk hate their jobs, but that's not my problem. In this economy, surely you can hire somebody who's better at customer service. The vets there are caring and knowledgeable. So I recommend the Briargate Veterinary Clinic if you can survive the rude cs staff! Pros: wonderful vets Cons: rude front desk more

Best Vet in the City 9/24/2009

We've always known Quinn Flenniken to be highly knowledgeable and caring, but yesterday, one of the most traumatic in our experience, Quinn rendered the ultimate in compassionate care. Our beloved Terrier, BeBe, had reached the end of her life. Quinn\r ministered to us, her parents, and to BeBe as he helped her begin her Long Sleep. He is an expert in his field, but further, treats the entire family as any doctor would for a child's parents in a hospital. Thank you, Quinn, for being who you are. Pros: Vet, facility and staff more

Best VET in TOWN 1/15/2009

I had an emergency today with 1 of my 3 dogs and Dr Flennigan was awesome, the entire office was awesome. Great customer awareness and considerate of my budget. I have been looking or a vet office for years were I can feel comfortable in. I will recommend this ofifce to all of my pet friends. \r Compassion goes a long way and pricing is very reasonable/ My dog was treated and home. \r Very positive experience, Highly recommend this office Pros: well staffed, friendly , priced right, more

Love Briargate Vet. 11/24/2008

I have been going to Briargate Veterinary Clinic for 3 years. I moved to CO. Springs from MA. I loved my Vet in MA. My dog got a virus and was in serious shape. Dr. Flennikan and his staff got my beloved dog in right away, had his records faxed over in a flash - and fixed my Boston up with medication. The cost was reasonable and the treatment was superb!! I was so happy to find a clinic with staff and Vets who made my dog and I feel welcomed. I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else! Pros: Wonderful Doc's and staff more
