LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMERS. Shannon said I will not give you a Pixie cut somewhere in between. She gave me a short Pixie cut. I am so disappointed in this Salon. It is the worst. It will take several months if not years to get it to any length. Did I say something to make this hairdresser mad or was she just having a bad day. more

I had a coupon for $20 a haircut at True Blue Salon, so this morning I decided to go check them out. I walked right in and was seated in less than five minutes. Michelle was my stylist and she did a great job. She was very friendly and brought me some coffee after she seated me. I told her I was one of those annoying guys who didn't really know what I wanted done, I just needed a cut. Michelle went right to work and I was very pleased with the result. She was engaging and easy to talk to and made me feel very welcome. I'll definitely go back to True Blue and see Michelle next time i need a cut. more

I went to this salon for my second visit on Friday. My first visit was with a stylist named Samantha. She was great. Very friendly, very attentive and very skilled.... She gave me the exact style I was after. I rebooked last minute for Friday and Sam wasn't available. This time Brandi was my stylist- She was awesome as well. I've been getting compliments on my hair all weekend. I've definitely found my salon. It's very nice, well appointed and the staff are all very friendly and upbeat. The scalp massage and shampoo are to die for. It's located in a busy parking lot but I still had no trouble parking. Can't wait to go back- more

I went to this salon last week for the first time and it will be my last. I was greeted by a very friendly, pretty girl. Shannon I believe. She showed me around, chatted with me, got me coffee, good so far. Then my stylist assistant comes over and ushers me to a chair. I couldnt understand a word she said. Then my stylist, Brandy, who looked like she had rolled out of bed and put on her dads clothes says ""Ill be right with you."" Then for 15 minutes talks to her client about her boyfriends ex and how much she hates her. When she finally gets to me guess what, she ONLY talks about the ex. Arent stylist suppose to let you talk? Then I over hear the owner trash talking people also. She called someone in her staff a ""jesus freak who dresses like a stripper."" What?! What kind of hell hole did I step into?! Then a sweet older woman comes around and asks if I want to rebook, I politely decline, to which Brandy says Im going on vacation so you has better go ahead and get on my book. She just assumed Id want to put up with her rude negative ass again. I guess when the owner trash talks her staff, what do you expect. The front desk and the shampoo was the best part of my visit. Ill never go back. more

This salon used to be pretty right on. 5/29/2012

This salon used to be pretty right on. Not anymore. Its a joke. The girls mope around and look like zombies. The owner talks trash about every single client and her staff. She literally sits on a stool all day and talks about everyone. I feel bad for her poor assistants. She treats them like dogs, worse than dogs. And dont even get me started on he front desk. The cubby kid just stands around looking clueless, the older woman cant see her hand in front of her face and is constantly talking about things that make no sense. The vampire (as the lady below me said) is running around looking like a chicken with its head cut off. She always look like her backs hurt. She stretching and bending and in general looks unhappy. Her back prob hurts because shes a giant and is bent over the desk all day. Theres not even stools! Those poor people have to stand all day behind a desk that doesnt even fit them. Raise it up...something. Hello...OSHA! They would shut her down in 2 seconds if they came in there. The other chubby kid and the vampire are always apologizing for something the other did. (prob cause she cant see) The walls are 17 different colors and not pretty colors. There a giant hole in the wall in the bathroom. No plants or cool art. As for the stylist as I said they look unhappy. Id be unhappy if my boss talked crap all day about me too. She yells at them accross the salon if she thinks they are doing something wrong. Ive seen it. Its got to be embarrassing. I liked my girl when I first started getting my hair cut there, she rubbed my head, we laughed and I got a good cut. Now she seems like she rather watch grass grow. I wont be back.I think the owner sucks the life out of them. Ive seen sooooooo many people come and go. They all start off happy, then end up walking around in a daze. I feel like you should build a team up and give them what they need to grow. Not talk about them, yell at them, and make them work in a bad environment. Im talking my money elsewhere from now on. more

The RUDEST receptionists. 3/10/2012

No exaggeration, the receptionist (the one that looks like a vampire or the woman who starred in ""Girl With a Dragon Tattoo""...take your pick) is the rudest person I have ever had to deal with when booking an appointment for any type of salon service. In fact, all of the receptionists are pretty arrogant and unfriendly (you answer phones and greet people for a living...it's not brain surgery), but she is just AWFUL. Who in their right mind would put someone like that in a position of customer service? You're salon is in Nashville, not New York City. Stop putting people who think that being rude makes them cosmopolitan out front or you'll continue to lose customers. I see you didn't win any awards this year. You might want to take some practice from the competition. People are paying good money to be treated with courtesy. Your stylists are good, but not so good that I need to tolerate b.s. every time I try to book an appointment or go to get my hair done. I'm going to Elan. They're receptionists are actually pleasant. Shocker! more

Kim is the most talented colorist to have ever lived 8/17/2011

I really can't say enough nice things about this place. I have been seeing Kim (who owns the shop) for over 8 years now, and she is truly remarkable. I have blonde hair and she does the most fabulous 2-3 color foil highlights. The condition of my hair always looks even better after the process. I have brought at least 3 out of town guests in to try Kim over the years, and all of them now make pilgrimages to Nashville to get their hair done at True Blue. She has been written up in a bunch of magazines and I have heard she works miracles fixing color mistakes made at other salons. It's also a beautiful state of the art salon and a really convenient location. Highly recommended!! more

Great colorist! 7/15/2010

I chose True Blue because I had a hot mess of a color job done to my hair. I called the salon in a panic on a Saturday morning, and at first the girl at the front desk told me they couldn't fit me in, but was very accommodating once I explained the extent of my botched and bleached hair. Jessica did an amazing color job and was very patient with my thick and long mane of hair. She even gave me a super cute cut without seeing a picture and with just my vague rambling to guide her. I definitely got one of the best haircuts and color I've had in years from Jessica, and will totally go back. Pros: attentive, helpful front desk, miracle workers more

I'm true blue to True Blue 5/15/2010

Once upon a time, I had a HORRIBLE color experience at another salon which will remain nameless as I'm just not that kind of person. I was referred to Kim (the owner of TB) by a friend who works for Aveda. I was pretty frantic when I called. I have very fair skin, and my then naturally red hair had turned black at the other salon, and the stylist refused to fix it, blaming it on my porous hair. I called Kim. It was a Saturday late afternoon, the salon was closing in 5 minutes, but she heard the panic in my voice and had me come in. She did a color test, and we both walked over and had manicures at a little nail shop in Park Place. When we finished, we went back to her shop, she rinsed my hair, and fixed my color that day. Needless to say, the salon had been closed for over an hour by that time. That was about eight years ago, I think. I'm still going there, I'm always happy with my hair, and I love that I have enough of a personal relationship with them that when I walk in, they always have a nice hot cup of coffee waiting for me. Keep it up, guys....I'll be there! more

AMAZING!! 5/8/2010

I went to True Blue today to have my highlights done by Kim and left there completely ecstatic!!! I have very long blonde hair (colored of course) and had really ""let it go"". It had been quite a long time since my last color and I was starting to scare people with my roots and frayed ends. I couldn't believe how amazing my hair looked when Kim was done... KIM IS AWESOME! She also put an Aveda conditioning treatment on my hair during the rinse which smelled so good and completely transformed my lifeless long hair. I should have asked her to turn water into wine.. I bet she can do that too:) I can't stop running my fingers through my hair. Love it! Pros: saved my hair more

Great Atmosphere, Exceptional serivce!! 5/5/2010

Being pregnant, i thought it was impossible to have my hair colored, something i had wanted to do to try to make myself fell prettier at this time. Little did i know the Aveda line is perfectly safe, so after learning that i booked an appointment with Jessica to have my hair cut & colored.\r I arrived on time & was greeted with a welcoming smile and assisted right away. I had brought pictures of the style of cut i was trying to achieve. Not only did Jessica do a great job on the cut, i gave her total reign on the color & it worked out better than i could have hoped! \r Before the session was complete i was asked if i needed any products and if i wanted to book my next appointment. \r The staff there seemed very focused on the job at hand, the stylists around me during my appointment paid close attention to what their clients were asking for and the clients then listened to reccomendations made. \r Overall, it was an excellent experience. The salon has very well trained and attentive staff. I have passed word to many of my friends looking for a trustworthy, talented stylist and look forward to many more visits to come @ True Blue!!!! Pros: Welcoming, attentive, observant Cons: none that i saw more

LOVE this salon! 5/5/2010

I just visited True Blue recently with what I considered a disaster. My hair truly has a mind of it's own. I mean, feeling insecure about your hair can be the thorn in the side of ANY woman. So, I called for an appt with Kim, and from the moment I walked in I started to breathe normally again:). The staff was so sweet and greeted me immediately, offering some of the amazing Aveda tea (my new favorite). I loved how open the salon was, too. Kim was awesome and basically performed a miracle, turning my neglected, natural brunette into a ""natural"" blonde. After a cut, layers, a blow-dry and style, I felt like a whole new woman. It's amazing how ""hair day"" can completely change your perspective on things. I have never gotten so many compliments on my hair. I was thrilled!! Already booked my next appointment. LOVE this place! I am a TRUE BLUE REGULAR!!! Pros: performed a miracle! more

True Blue is AWESOME!!! 5/5/2010

I go to True Blue and have for 2 years now. I have never been in such an inviting atmosphere. Its always fun and laid back but busy at the same time. The owner, Kim, is so friendly and makes sure to say hello to everyone who walks through the door. The front desk staff is always outgoing and friendly. Shandry always has a smile on her face and goes out of her way to make the clients feel welcome and comfortable. They have recently added Jenna as her partner in crime...and the duo couldn't be better! The staff is always busy and helpful with one another. The service that they provide is amazing...my hair color stops people! People always ask me where I get my hair done and I always keep an extra card or 2 handy. This salon is awesome! id recommend it to anyone! more

True Blue Rocks! 5/5/2010

True Blue Salon is one of the best salons in Nashville. It's the only place I want to go. Jessica O. is my stylist. I would highly recommend her to anyone in need of a new stylist! During my appointment, she took the time to talk to me about the look I was wanting to achieve. She also looked at the pictures I brought with me of the color/cut I wanted. Not only did she do an AMAZING job... it was perfect - just like the pictures! Everyone was super friendly and I left in such a great mood! Thank you so much, True Blue! xoxo Pros: Friendly Staff, Relaxing Enviroment, Amazing Stylists more

Want a fantastic salon-Go to True Blue! 5/5/2010

Jessica cuts and styles my hair and she's awesome! The atmosphere and customer service is the best. I'm really picky when it comes to my hair and you will love this salon! Pros: Excellent customer service and stylists! Cons: For me it would be the dirve-40 minutes but it's worth it. more

VERY GENEROUS SALON! BEST IN NASHVILLE! 5/5/2010

My company hosted a Benefit this year for MS in which the salon donated their time to do the hair and makeup of all artist. The stylist stayed after work on a Saturday and they were very sweet, and fun group! The owner and her staff made it convenient for all of us and made sure everyone was in and out on time! I would recommend this Salon to everyone! more

Worst Customer Service 5/3/2010

I booked an appointment with a stylist at True Blue Salon a couple of months ago. On my way to the salon Saturday morning, there was a wreck that closed down both sides of the interstate. I called the salon to let them know I was going to be late and was greeted by the rudest receptionist ever. She sounded incredibly put out and told me to hold. 7 minutes later (looking at my cell to see how long the hold time was) she told me, ""well, we can try to get you in, but you realize that we won't be able to blow dry or style your hair right?"" I asked her what the point was for coming in then and asked to reschedule the appointment. She told me not to because the stylist would lose money and that's the last thing that I would want to do to someone. WTF When I arrived at the the receptionist knew who I was there to see and wouldn't look at me. The stylist then came and got me and brought me back to her chair. Did I mention that I was only 10 minutes late for my appointment? 15 minutes later, another client came in and the stylist had to manage two people. The poor girl was so stressed and apologized profusely the entire time. I told her that I offered to reschedule and what the receptionist had said to me. She was really embarrassed. I walked out of the salon with wet hair and 40 degree weather. Even thought the color was amazing and the stylist tried to handle the best she could, the salon was incredibly over-priced and I was more stressed when I left then when I was stuck in traffic trying to get there. The reason why I don't mind paying double price for a hair cut and color is for the relaxing experience. I'll never step foot in this salon ever again. If you need a great place to get your hair done, there are several right in that area that will make you feel welcome, relaxed and do a way better job. more

Horrible Experience 4/29/2010

If you are interested in having true professionals pamper you in style, in a relaxed environment, all at a reasonable price... do NOT even CONSIDER going to True Blue salon! I went there for a simple up-do and I was made to feel like a rushed & unwelcomed guest! No one greeted me as I approached the desk, and when they finally acknowleged me they could not have been more rude or unenthusiastic. A lady just threw a card at me and said, ""Fill this out."" No warm welcome at all. Fortunately, when I met my stylist, I was pleasantly surprised at how sweet she was... and she did an excellent job! However, she could barely carry a conversation with me, as she appeared extremely rushed and stressed to get through my appointment (even though I arrived on time). It was the quickest updo I've ever had done - and I could tell she really wanted to spend more time on me and my hair, but she was clearly having to scramble because she was so pressed for time. I remember looking around the salon and seeing total CHAOS everywhere. I felt like all of us clients sitting in chairs that day were on a conveyer belt and the stylists had to rush through everyone as quickly as possible. Not at all the relaxed environment or personal attention to detail that I would expect from a professional salon. Thank GOD I have never had my hair colored there - it must be a nightmare! True Blue is extremely overpriced for their generic & time-crunched services. I would have felt more relaxed and respected at Great Clips! Do not waste your money, time, or hair at this place! O-v-e-r-r-a-t-e-d. Pros: nice Aveda products Cons: everything but the nice Aveda products! more

Love our Hair Stylist not the Salon 4/28/2010

When I moved to Nashville from New Hampshire I had a very difficult time finding a good hair stylist. Cindy is the first hair stylist that has styled my hair just as I ask her. She is attentive, honest and has a wonderful personality. She helped me prep my hair style for my wedding and she blew me away with a fantastic night on the town hair style. I was less than impressed with the receptionist on a number of occasions. I made appointments with Cindy only to find out that the receptionist had booked me for the wrong day, a Saturday instead of a Wednesday. The receptionist did not take responsibility for the mistake and simply tried to squeeze me in anyways. I was made to feel like I had done something wrong and that I was inconveniencing her by asking her to correct the situation. I like the product line but one of the products was not available for me to use at my wedding. I got married in New Hampshire so I had to purchase my products to bring with me. The specific product I needed was important in holding the style. The person that I order the product from did not offer an alternative or even bother to make any other suggestions. They simply said they use the product on clients in the salon but that they do not have it available for sale to clients. That is just the most bizarre thing I have ever experienced at a salon. If you are going to use a product in your salon you should make it available for purchase by your clients. I have also never been to a salon where the owner and other employees pace the salon watching every chair as if waiting for something to go wrong. It makes for an uncomfortable and untrusting environment. I was also not impressed by the professionalism of the owner. She is impersonal, unfriendly and snooty. I am not impressed by any salon or company that tries to project an exclusive environment by being arrogant, condescending, and snobby. Pros: Cindy K Cons: Customer Service, product availability, professionalism more
