Editorial review from Citysearch 7/2/2012

So my reverse gear went out back in September. It would kinda work, so, I limped by until March when reverse went out completely. Not wanting to cause any more issues, and not having a lot of money to spend, I searched and searched for the best deal available.\r \r Thank goodness I came across Travis and Transmission Shack.\r \r Like most other people, I was truly skeptical and honestly believed that the service and price that transmission shack offered would be to good to be true. Travis quoted me $450 where everyone else wanted over $1,800. It took about 8 days, but, with the money I saved I was able to rent a car and still have lots of money left over. When I picked up the car, it drove like it was brand new..\r \r Other reviewers will talk about there not being a desk front, or their car getting dirty while in for repairs. If that's the kind of service you are looking for, go right on ahead and lay down close to $2,000.00. - until they ask for more money when you pick it up that is. Those are silly complaints to make.\r \r If you want an honest mechanic who will give you the absolute best rate ever on repairing your transmission, give Transmission Shack a call. You'll pay less than the other guys charge you just to pull your transmission out. more

"" Ttansmission Shack "" saved me alot of money 7/12/2010

Transmission Shack is very honest and reasonable. Travis was very knowledgeable and patient in explaining the problems to me. It costs less than any other shop I called. I found there ad in the Central Valley Classified paper. because of there toll free number and there web site i was surprised that there actually a smaller shop, but the savings were huge. if saving money is important to you. Transmission Shack is worth giving a call. Pros: saved alot of money, plus FREE installation Cons: very busy plus small shop equal longer wait to get job done more

Buyer Beware 6/16/2010

I PAID THIS PLACE $840.00 TO FIX MY TRANSMISSION, CONSIDERING THAT WHEN I FIRST TALKED TO TRAVIS I EXPLAINED TO HIM THAT I THOUGHT THE CASE WAS CRACKED. HE CLAIMS TO HAVE REBUILT THE CRACKED CASE TRANSMISSION. WHEN HE FINALLY FINISHED THE WORK THAT TOOK ABOUT 2 WEEKS. THE TRANSMISSION WAS LEAKING AND HAD VIBRATIONS AND TRANNY CODE P1870. I HAVE TAKEN IT BACK TWICE SINCE THE REPAIR, AND TRANSMISSION IS STILL LEAKING AND SHAKING. HE CLAIMS A 6 MONTH WARRANTY, BUT THAT'S JUST STUFF HE SAYS TO CON PEOPLE IN BELIEVING HE WILL STAND BEHIND HIS WORK. more
