No better doctor ever 9/19/2011

Dr. Parr is by far the best Ortho doctor around. He is a wonderful caring person and gentleman. He cares about all his patients. Yes you are going to wait to see him, however you know that is because he is taking the time to answer every question no matter how minor it might seem to him, reassure you that his treatment is not only good but will work long term. He is not a ""cut happy"" doctor, surgery while his speciality is done ONLY when necessary and you hare never pushed into doing surgery until YOU feel comfortable. Dr. Parr will meet you in his office INSTEAD of making you meet him or a stranger in the ER. He calls his patients to check on their status. Our entire family recommends Dr. Parr to all their friends, even if it meant paying out of network. Our children have come home from college from all over the country to see Dr. Parr. One of them was seen in Dr. Parr's office on Thanksgiving Day because he had to return to college the next day and Dr. Parr wanted to make sure that everything was good BEFORE he left town. Of course he recommended that we follow up with the team doctor but Mom and child felt better knowing we had passed Dr. Parr's review. more

Our Patients are special People 11/8/2010

We value our patients, and we fully understand that no one calls our office because they are having a good day. Our main telephone line is set to notify others in the office if a phone line rings more than three times before being answered by one of our two receptionists. The phones are also set to ring back if someone has been on hold for too long. We wish Medicare and the insurance companies paid enough for us to hire more front office staff, but they do not. Our goal is to give each patient the appropriate, understanding attention needed for his or her medical care. There are certain times during some days, especially right after a pretty weekend, when all six lines ring at the same time. If anyone is unhappy with how he or she is treated on the phone, just ask for the Assistant Business Manager. more

Very Rude Staff 5/12/2010

I've been a patient of Dr. Parr's for a while. Well, I recently broke a bone and called to set up an appointment. First of all a person answered the phone and I could not understand a word she said. When I asked if this WAS Dr. Parr's office, she, very rudely, said, ""That's what I said."" She then put me on infinite hold. After a while another person came on and, as was the receptionist, she too was extremely kurt. She continually put me on hold wothout saying anything much less, please excuse me may I put you on hold or any such thing. She would talking one minute and the next minute, CLICK, and I was on hold. This kept happening. When I asked her about it she told me she was very busy. Well, excuse me. Tom, I am very sorry. You are a great doctor but you really need to do something about your staff. This is a buisness model I am seeing more and more and as a fellow veteran, I am very surprised you put up with such employees. By the way. I ended up needing complete reconstructive surgery on my foot. I'm sure it would have been a very lucrative surgery for your practice. I wish Dr. Parr luck with this practice. Pros: Great Doctor if you can get pass the Staff Cons: Again, terrible staff more

This rating is for the service not the actual doctor 8/14/2009

I didn't actually get to see Tom. I was recommended by a friend to go to him because I had been having a lingering shoulder injury. But when I called to make an appointment the lady on the phone spoke incoherently , was pretty rude, and put me on hold 3 times during the conversation. Once again, this review is not to reflect the doctor, I'm sure he is top class. more

Great, Great guy and surgeon!! 10/27/2008

I had significant restriction in my shoulder, thought it was torn rotator cuff. Dr. Parr operated the same week as Ike. He basically cleaned out the joint of bone spurs and scar tissue, with only a very minor tear in rotator cuff being ok to leave as is. I took 3 advil after surgery and that was it!!! Incredible surgeon and great guy. I would recommend Dr. Parr for any type of orthopeadic surgery. He is conservative, will do least amount of surgery needed or not at all. I found him to be very honest and easy to discuss everything with. I would definitely take my children to him if they needed any of this type of evaluation, surgery. more

Best Doctor Ever 9/26/2006

Not only is Dr. Parr a great doctor but he is a great human being. Dr. Parr will be conservative with your treatment but completely thorough. I would trust him with all of my family members. He is in a class above most. He was Physician of the Year at Southwest Memorial many years ago. He is a graduate of West Point Military Academy. I can not say enough good things about him. Pros: Quality Care, Bedside Manner, Follow Up more
