What you would expect from the Ritz-Carlton 10/9/2009

I had the privilege of staying in the Ritz around the holiday season and it truly was amazing. From the moment you walk in the lobby you feel welcome and like you are a wanted there. We originally had a room on the 5th floor which was nice but some faulty engineering with the shower/tub had water leaking all over the bathroom. Without hesitation they sent up a key to a new room and we were transferred to a room with a separate steam shower and bath which was even better than the first room. Some key features that caught my eye in the rooms were the televisions in the bathroom mirrors, the comfortable king size beds, marble flooring and top of the line fixtures. The room size is rather large for accommodating only two people which is very nice. There is a lounge area which holds quite a few people. It is laced with business people and celebrities who are staying in town. Best place to people watch in the city so far. The waitresses in the lounge area are very friendly and accommodating with the drink service. The actual restaurant BLT Steak is in an adjoining room to the lounge and is relatively packed every time I've been in there. The dining room and bar area of the restaurant are combined almost in a free flowing, but defined space. The Ritz Carlton Charlotte could really bring the whole nightlife at hotels to fruition here in Charlotte, like bigger cities such as Atlanta and New York have done. The ball rooms and meeting areas are pretty wild. In one set of group dining rooms you have wall to wall, floor to ceiling glass overlooking College street. And for the larger corporate events the opulent, almost ostentatious main ballroom. This room is just massive, I believe it holds 800 or so guests. Pros: New, Modern, Clean, Accomodating Cons: Not a thing more
