Why Sweet Briar 1/8/2010

Sweet Briar's campus is drop dead gorgeous but that's about it. Most of the students are VA. born so they can go home every weekend which leaves the campus dead. A car is a must or you'll go made looking at trees! It's all girl with no boys in sight. If you want boys you go to Sydney Hampton and stay overnight with a group of boys you barely know. They are not Northerner friendly and after the first year they ignore you in hopes you go away. The college is small giving students more attention than the bigger universities but it is a very lonely existence in a very pretty place. more

Prothro Commons.. buffet! 4/12/2006

I used to hang out at Prothro Commons (sp?) buffet. What an enormous selection of food and goodies to choose from. For one small fee, you can eat yourself under the table and then some. They usually prepare three or so main entrees that are hot, then there is a deli buffet with lots of cold meats to make sandwiches. A nice salad bar is available and you can fill up on milk, coffee, juices of every kind and top it off with a nice fruit, icecream, sorbet bar for dessert! Whew! Anyone can access PC on the gorgeous, scenic Sweet Briar campus. Talk about bang for your food buck. more

Go Vixens! 4/8/2006

Sweet Briar's mascot, you fools! That's what Vixens are! SBC is a small, liberal-arts college in the foothills of Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains. I went to Sweet Briar for my undergrad and it was great! There are only 600 students on campus (very few live off-campus), so it's a very close-knit environment. Cost is approaching $30,000 a year, but financial aid there is really helpful. 75% of all students are on some form of financial aid. I definitely recommend this school for young women! more
