Good Place that cares for your pets. 8/3/2012

We have used Sunbury Animal Hospital for over 40 years for our large and small animals. Also, they were used by both my husbands parents and my parents for both large and small animals. We have found them to be very knowledgeable and if unsure of something they will research it. If they feel it is something that needs a specialist they will always do a referral. They are always there when you need them 24/7. They also have more capabalilities than most of the area vets for bloodwork. We have seen big advancements over the years and are very happy with the changes. more

My cat 5/15/2012

I am new to the area. My cat is my world, when she started drinking a gallon of water in 4 to 5 days and the litter box was a swamp in the same amount of time. I did the research, she was going thru kidney failure. I was devastated, she has been with me since she was 4 weeks old and was now 17. I knew that there was nothing that could be done, or at least with out her suffering. I decided to put her down. I called the Sunbury Animal Hospital, about 10 am Monday, they gave us an 11:15 appointment. They took great care of her. She was as fiesty as can be. They gave me and the cat awesome service. I even got a personalized card from the vet the next day! I will recommend this animal hospital to anyone who needs one. Thank you guys for all of you care! more

Doesnt care about your pets well being 3/15/2012

My 9 year old pit bull was having pain in her face/head area for a week. On saturday, she started having more extreme pain, and cried throughout the day. I called sunbury animal hospital, and asked if i could have her seen that day. They told me I would be charged with an emergency fee, which I was totally fine with. I just knew she was in pain, and wanted her to be checked out that day. I arrived for her appointment, and waited for the veternarian to see her. When the vet came in, I told her the symptons my dog was having....crying when her face/head was touched, and not being nearly as active. She was just laying around, seeming uncomfortable and in pain. I told the vet that she was not herself, and I knew something was wrong with her. (shes 9yrs old and has been my baby since 6 weeks, so i know how she normally acts). the vet felt her all over, starting with her back and then looking in her mouth and touching her head. She told me she seemed healthy, she didnt have an answer for me, and if my dog had more symptons to bring her back in. The vet did not do any tests, nor blood work. I got charged $92.00 for an emergency visit. None of my questions were answered, and I was left leaving with my dog in pain. Four days later, I took my dog to a veternarian in Danville. I told the vet about my dogs symptons(the same thing I told sunbury). The vet thoroughly checked out my dog and manevered her head in different ways, and found out she had a slipped disc. The vet did xrays and blood work to confirm her diagnoses and gave my dog the treatment she needed and deserved. The only thing I can say about Sunbury Animal Hospital, is that it was a Saturday, the vet wanted to get out of work, and didnt care or take the time to figure out what was going on with my dog. They didnt even offer to do blood tests or xrays! Sunbury just had me come in and scooted me right out the door, not trying to figure out the problem with my dog. They did not care my dog was in pain and didnt try to figure out why she was having the symptons she was. I'm very angry that Sunbury Animal Hospital didnt do anything to try and figure out what was going on with my dog. I feel bad that she had to wait a few more days to be diagnosed with her slipped disc, and I feel terrible that she was in all that pain, and and the vet didnt recognize or care what was going on. Obviously, Sunbury Animal Hospital doesnt care about your pets health...they are only there to make money. Before you take your pet to Sunbury please do some research! Pros: null Cons: null more

Good vets..... 11/21/2008

I have used Sunbury Animal Hospital for my horses. They have a clinic in the spring that you can take your horse to them and have there vaccines done, with no vet or office call charge. They have a pretty decent staff of vets, some seem more knowledgable than others but sometimes we can't be real picky in an emergency. more
