I work for a petstore in sugarland and we take some of our animals here. Sugarland pet hospital is always so sweet and patient. All the staff is nice and has never benn rude to me anytime I have been there to drop of animals. As for the lady with the puppy toy poodle, you need to understand that grooming a dog (a puppy at that) is EXTREMELY difficult and the trash and move around so much that ur almnost scared to even put the clippers near. There will be accidents of course! I would love to see someone groom a scared and moving pups without error. Proffesional groomers are trained to groom as best as they can,not perform miracles more

I have never had a bad experience with the Doctors or staff. This is one of the best pet hospitals that I have ever taken my pets to. more

Greatest Vet ever 8/29/2010

The BEST place with great doctors and staff to take your beloved pet. I couldn't ask for better. If you love your pet like I love mine, so see Dr Hendrix or Dr Brust. GREAT Vets. Loving and compassionate. \r After being told by Sugar Mill Pet Clinic that my cat was just old and to take him home & let him have anything he wanted til he died, I drove by Sugar Land Pet Hospital & stopped & told them what that vet said, they agreed with me that was crazy. After doing test, found he needed thyroid med, after putting my cat on the meds he started gaining weight and doing good and was happy again. \r Thanks to Dr Hendrix & Dr Brust. AWESOME!! GREAT JOB!\r He has been groomed there & never had a problem.\r \r I think the bad reviews probably belong to SUGAR MILL! They deserve all the bad reviews they get! more

Appalling 8/18/2010

Indifferent, and careless.\r My toy poodle regularly received grooming at Sugar Land Pet Hospital. At the time, she was a few months old. One day, the technician mindlessly, with the razor, cuts a gash across her eye.\r Upon picking up my puppy, we were told only that a vet took a look at her eye, and administered antibiotics. Apology? No. Apparently, no responsibility is taken by 'groomers' who should, professionally, know how to handle scared dogs; it was my puppy's fault for naturally responding in a scared manner.\r My puppy is now frantically afraid of all razors. A visible scar runs across her eye. Compensation has not been offered. more

Honestly..not a fan of this place as I felt the doctor did not hear any of my concerns and was quick to diagnose even though every 2nd opinion I would get would be different. I just didn't get a good feeling that their main priority was my pet's health but rather how quickly they could fit in as many examinations into an allotted time. more

Simply the Best!!!! 1/23/2010

Dr. Hendrix is caring, supportive, extremely knowledgeable and always available! I work in the health care field and I interviewed many veterinarians before finding Dr Hendrix. I wanted to make sure to find an excellent doctor for my animals. One that treats my babies and me with the care and compassion that I make sure to give my patient?s everyday. Dr. Hendrix TAKES THE TIME to educate you so that you can make the right choices for your animals and understand why one course of treatment may be better than another. I am a worry wart when it comes to my animals, so I do drill him with a ton of questions. He always comes through, always returns my calls, and is always there to see us if Hunter's seizures start back up or if Sadi just needs her nails trimmed. I live in Cy-Fair, my business is in Katy, but I drive to Sugar Land and always will to take my animals to the best vet around. I also appreciate that his staff is friendly, professional, welcoming and compassionate when you arriv more

DID SHE LISTEN? 7/4/2009

I have never had anything but good experiences from Sugar Land Pet Hospital. I have a very very old, very grumpy long haired cat that has to be shaved down due to matts about twice a year. The cat has to be sedated, and it was explained to me that old cats because of reduced function of their organs can take longer to have the sedation removed from their systems. I choose to have my baby sedated to avoid stressing her, and have the most trust in the doctors and staff at Sugar Land Pet Hospital. I don't know how old her pet is, but perhaps Courtney B should have listened to explanations instead of dissing a great hospital. Sorry guys, but you don't deserve that bad review! I'll never go anywhere else! more

BEWARE!! 6/23/2009

This place everyone thinks is so wonderful almost killed my cat. She went in for a simple grooming and came out so "doped up" she couldn't walk, eat, or drink for close to two days. I understand mistakes are made, but this is unacceptable. Go there at your own risk, there are too many other good animal hospital's in Sugar Land. more

Dr Doug and staff at Sugar Land Pet Hospital have been the most caring and compassionate professionals I've ever dealt with. We just lost our beloved Lance after 13 years of stellar care. My favorite question to Dr Doug was always "what would you do if he was yours?". We made all our decisions regarding Lance that way. And he lead a very active life and died a very peaceful death. You can count on Dr Doug and his staff always being there for you, and helping you through the most difficult times. If we get another puppy he will never go anywhere but SLPH. more

You dont know what your talking about! 12/12/2008

That "less than stellar care" comment is a load of crap, obviously they have never been to sugar land pet hospital. The comment she is talking about, about the old dog that woudn't recieve treatment was Sugar Mill Animal Clinic not Sugar Land Pet Hospital. They are very close together and are confused often. \r \r Dr. Hendrix would see and treat any dog no matter how sick or how old.\r \r So have some more time with your life besides commenting on things you dont know about.\r \r SLPH has the best care and staff around. I've been taking my animals there for 18 years. I would never go anywhere else. I moved, now i live an hour away and still regularly make the drive so charlie can have the best care.\r \r Thank you SLPH more

They are the very best!!! 5/13/2008

I absolutely love the Sugar Land Pet Hospital! I live in the Medical Center and drive out there in rush hour traffic just because my Bailey deserves the best. The staff is so caring and considerate. The place looks great- especially the new one. Dr. Hendrix is very straight forward, kind and clearly has a love for animals. I definitely recommend this place to anybody looking for a vet's office to call home for their pet! more

NOTHING BUT THE BEST FOR MY POOCHIES............. 12/28/2007

The Sugarland Pet Hospital is great....the staff and vets are caring and wonderful people. My dogs have been going to them for several years now....Dr. Hendrix is the best! I live in the Cy Fair area and drive to the Sugarland Pet Hospital because of the care they give to my dogs. Their prices are by far cheaper than any other vet I have taken my dogs to. I appreciate the time they spend with me when my dogs are sick or having problems.Thank you to Dx. Doug and the staff for everything! more

Wonderful staff! 11/16/2007

The staff at Sugar Land Pet Hospital is wonderful. I've been taking my cat there for 10+ years, and she always get the best care! Dr. Hendrix takes the time to get to know your pet, and is always kind and thoughtful in his recommendations for treatment. They have great hours, and it is easy to get an appointment. Everyone there is professional. You can see that they genuinely love animals, and that they are there for the right reason. They also offer grooming services and boarding. more

Caring People Caring for your Pet 7/25/2005

Their caring staff treats their animal clients with compassion and great care. Our regular vet was out of town when our dog recently got sick, so we called up Sugar Land Pet Hospital. Our dog had to be euthanized and they couldnt be more understanding. One of the vet technicians went out of their way to talk with my six year old about his beloved dog being put to sleep. Prices are comparable to other vet practices and they offer board and grooming too. more
