The only Fall/ fruit farm that charges $1.00 for the slides, based on the honor system, rather than just making it free for kids; and also the only one where my child and three others I brought got small open wounds from the side enclosure. We were there on a Saturday, so the waiting bench area had a longer wait time than what I have experienced at other farms; and the waiting area was somewhat disorganized, because people who just showed up got ahead of others sitting in the bench area. There was a friendly gentleman who tried his best, but most people see the large number of people waiting, and try to get on the truck. No signs were marked to show what type of apples we picked. We discovered too late, that we weren't supposed to pick the ones up higher that could have made us extremely sick, and we should have known something was wrong when we saw poison ivy along the higher apple trees. Aside from that, their hotdogs were only a $1.00 and soda $.75. They also had a good prices on their produce, and desserts. They also had a lovely array of mum flowers for purchase. The kids liked the barn animals; they had a bouncy castle and pony rides for a fee. If you've never been there, it is a lovely farm. Next year, I won't let our kids go on the slides until the owner makes the inside of the enclosure smoother, because the rough sides can hurt children. As far as the $1.00 charge for the slides, I know $1.00 is cheap and the owner has to make a profit, but most people come, spend money. I paid a little over $18.00 for 15 apples, which didn't look perfect, considering they weren't Organic. However, they were freshly picked off the trees, and the kids had a lot of fun picking them. I also think that they charge a lot for the apples, despite saving the owners time and money by having "customers" pick them. But, the owners have to pay the drivers, spend money on the transport trucks, and they also lose some money from the one or two apples that each person eats (tests) before deciding upon a specific tree to pick.
