My son has been attending stepping from the age of 3 months and I would not go ANYWHERE else. I think he loves the place as much as I do. Everyone knows his name. Its a clean fun environment. The children are always doing something different and exciting. World travels, PJ day, splash days and the list goes on and on. We love it!! Pros: great location, wonderful teachers more

Words of Praise from Mom with twins in daycare 1st time 6/21/2009

When I walked through the door, my instincts gave a warm feeling. The school is clean and the staff is wonderful- the school is kept clean and sanitized on a regular basis; The boys were placed with Ms. Chevonne. her demeanor and way of handling the children is very professional but with a warm heart and touch. While I teased several times that I feel like my hands are full with just two, and how in fact does she manage all the kids, she always smiled and answered that she really just ?manages? them, but so she does so very well. After about two weeks, I transferred the boys to a more age-appropriate class- The class is taught by Ms. Katy who has been teaching 2 year olds for over 20 years (although she does not look it). I really like Ms. Katy. I was immediately struck by her seemingly obvious knack for teaching children at that age, it comes naturally top her and is not something that can be taught or learned. She mentioned that she buys extra books and stickers for the class out of money for her own pocket to coincide with the topic that she teaches for that week. She loves to do so because she really enjoys watching children learn. She also built a sensory center- a stand with uncooked rice grains and toys which she says gets children to enjoy the sensory part of learning textures (I suspect that she buys the 20 pound rice bags out of her own pocket and frequently to for anyone knows that 2 year olds love to drop things on the floor and the sensory table needs to be replenished often). Pros: Quality teachers, cleanliness of facility Cons: negligible more

Awesome Daycare 6/18/2009

After my stroke, my daughter was suddenly thrust into the ""Daycare search"". SS made her welcome the very first time she walked in, tours of the school campus were well received b y all the teachers. Everything was done to accomodate a 10 month old and a 20 month old. Understanding and compassion was everywhere. The staff immediately grasped the fact that ""Grandpa"" was where they wanted to be and set about making them feel at home. The social interactions they are learning, the education abilties theey have combined with extremely affordable tuition make this the number 1 school in the greater Austin Area. Now when we get them ready for School. they race to the door. A little more than 1 year has passed since they first entered anbd the excitement about going is as strong as ever. The teachers are well qualified not only as educatotres but as loving suuportive adults. A kiss and a hug is never far away at Stepping Stone. Pros: Quality affordable educational daycare more

Quality Daycare/Family atmosphere 6/18/2009

My first daughter began attending Stepping Stone on O'Connor back in June 2007 when she was already 6 months old and is now in the 2-year-old class. My second daughter, 11 months old, is now in the nursery and has been there since she was 7 weeks old. Remarkably, for a daycare, they manage to hire and KEEP great teachers. The baby has had the same teachers in her class since day one and she is always well taken care of and I never have to worry. They are prompt in letting me know if there is a problem or if she needs anything. My 2-year-old is potty trained with the help of her teachers (I wish I could take full credit for that one!) and amazes me everyday with what she has learned. She came home the other day singing the ABC song and can count up to 4, which to me, is remarkable for a 2-year-old! So, I know with their curriculum, she is actually learning something and not just playing all day. The staff are very caring and even know the girls by name (heck, they even remember our dog's name!). I would highly recommend this daycare to anyone. Pros: Not as expensive as others, great communication more
