Editorial review from Citysearch 9/23/2013

I am not sure what to say about this place. I brought in 4 cats from the shelter to have checked out for URI. For antibiotics, a little bloodwork and a fecal on one, it cost over 800.00. I brought one back several times, because she was lethargic. She died. I was charged 500.00 for her. My older cat got a little dehydrated, and I had to sign a paper and pay 850.00 for an overnight observation. While I was there they received a phonecall from a man who's dog had swallowed rat poison, and they would not see him because he did not have all the money. I presume that dog died. more

TOTAL DISAGREEMENT 2/5/2012

I have to say I totally disagree with all of the negative remarks made about St. Francis. Our puppy just passed away in November, 2011. We took her there and it was obvious there was no saving her life based on what was wrong with her (torn diaphragm with all internal organs in her chest cavity - She fell) They were wonderful. They did everything possible to save her life to include (1) hour in oxygen tent, full IV, shot of epinepherine as she was going into full cardiac arrest. Wrapped her in a blanket and gave us time with her. Gave us a little casket to take her home in. NEVER CHARGED US A DIME FOR ANY OF THAT. I will never go anywhere else but St. Francis. They have been wonderful. Oh and by the way, every time I have been there, I never sat in the waiting room. I was taken back immediately for all of my appts. more

THANKS a lot! 10/26/2011

I brought my dog in b/c she was lethargic and not acting right to see if I could get a diagnosis and some kind of answer. She was seen by three doctors in a 24-hour time frame and no one could figure out what was wrong with her! I was going out of town the next day and took her home to my usual vet and she was diagnosed w/having an ear infection, treated, and make a full recovery. $400.00 later b/w two vet appointments, my dog is all better. Thanks a lot to St. Francis for putting me out all that money and not doing a thorough enough ear exam to diagnose my poor pup!\r \r To make matters worse, I called back to see if they would credit my account for the obvious mistake they made in missing her ear infection, and they argued w/me a/b it and said they ""did not see it"" during the exam. He said that she must have had ""some other problem"" while there...right....Here's the real kicker-one of the docs gave me an ear wash to clean her ears with.\r \r My hometown vet said that there should have been no excuse for the 3 doctors at St. Francis missing this infection and she said that the ear wash they gave me was much too strong for my dog (glad I asked her). Forget the lost money, my poor dog had to suffer too long b/c of these peole. \r \r I may have considered returning to this place had they been more understanding and owned up to their mistake. I simply cannot trust my dog to vets that are incompetent and rude.\r \r more

Many owners have regreted going here 3/3/2011

If only I knew then about this place what I know now. There are so many things to complain about, it is hard to figure out where to begin. You wait to be seen is for hours. The receptionist is too busy, too inexperienced, too rude and always new. The doctors recommend unnecessary procedures to make money. My cat was very healthy and after they performed an uncessary procedure, he became deathly ill and passed away. They did not admit to any wrong doing. They charged us thousands of dollars and had the audacity to be defensive. DO NOT STEP FOOT IN THIS PLACE! more

This doctor needs to improve her skills. She is nice but, maybe research might be better suited for her. more
