Searched for the best place in town and this is it! 9/14/2012

I and my husband have been in Lubbock for Several years now and the Veterinary and boarding options for our 2 dogs and 3 cats is ample to say the least! We have been to several different clinics and "pet resorts" and have yet to beat the experience we and our pets have consitently had with Dr. Crouch and her staff. Our dogs are EXCITED to some the ladies at South University everytime we take them whether for medical needs or boarding. I love that the staff is small and recognize my family and our pets every time we come and Dr. Crouch is kind and actually tries to keep things as cost concious as possible for my family! She is honestly the best vet we have ever had and now our extended family brings their pets as well!! Cant say enough about this place love it! more

I agree with reviewer below, if I could give no stars I would. South University Pet Hospital and Pet Motel is a rip off! Even though I had asked them on numerous occasions how much it was to board my dog, they charged us a "mandatory" $15 bath fee when our dog was picked up. When I called to talk to a manager, there wasn't one on duty and the owner was out of town. I was told that she had more important things to do than to take care of my problem. I called back today and the manager, Cory, told me that she was sorry that the fee wasn't disclosed to me prior, but that it was just their policy. Yes, it's their policy to rip people off. This is a very dishonest place of business. If they can be deceptive when it comes to their business practices in front of everyone, I hate to think about the kind of care that they give to our pets while no one is looking! more

I have been coming here for over 13 years and new the old ownership and now the new one. Both have treated my 3 cats with so much love, each one has had to go in for scheduled and non-scheduled surgery and even some life/death emergency visits, each visit my kitties are hugged, loved, and sometimes a little kiss. On occasion I have had to leave a kitty overnight for recuperation, and the next day my cat (who hates having to go, they are typical scardy cats) they are calm and show so much love and appreciation back to the attendants. When ownership changed I was well informed and the new Owner was very welcoming and made sure to get to know me and my kitties individually. Thank you so much for 13 years of exceptional care. more

I have used this clinic for several years and for quite a few animals. The Doctor is very caring and sincere. I have nothing but good things to say about the treatment, comfort and professionalism that she gives. However I have had several problems with my billing. It seems lately there has been a mistake or a miscommunication when it comes to my bill. Recently after paying my bill, I received a second charge. It seems from the time I paid my bill to when I picked up my pet, there was another charge added without my authorization. Now I don't mind paying for my pets, I just want someone to have the decency to pick up the phone and call me before they charge me, again. This being the second time, it was very upsetting, and when I voiced my complaint they gave me an "oh well" answer and hung up on me. Let me suggest that you ask questions before paying your bill, question like "Is this everything?" more

Great Vet Clinic 5/14/2009

I have been going to this Vet clinic for roughly 7 years. I convinced my parents to start taking their pets there as well. The last year and half there has been a change in ownership and I can not rave enough about Dr. Crouch. I have to admit the change of hands caused a huge turnover in staff and that was very unnerving at first. But now I am very fond of the staff. I just had to put down one of my beloved great danes. It was just horrible, but Dr. Crouch and her staff were very loving and patient not to mention very professional. The prices since the change of ownership have also become better. Needless to say I won't be taking my pets to any other Vet clinic. They have renovated and it looks very nice and it is extremely clean. If you are looking for a very compassionate and extremely competent vet clinic please look no further. more

Love new Doctor 7/9/2008

This clinic has recently changed owership, the staff is friendly and the Vet is well trained and friendly too. They really seem to care a lot about the quality of care that is being delivered. I was impressed with the level of knowledge the Dr. displayed. My pet was given a through examination, and as a result some problems that I was not aware of and my previous Vet had not noticed were picked up on and treated before they became a big (and expensive) problem. They are also in the process of renovation, the new look should be very nice. more

I'd give it no stars, but that is not an option 4/20/2008

I had been going to this two-vet clinic for three years. My vet apparently was the non-owner of the clinic.\r \r One of my dogs has developed significant health problems. He has been having diagnostic tests for almost two weeks. I talked to my vet on Wednesday about running more tests before doing exploratory surgery. \r \r I dropped my dog off for the testing on Thursday, and when we picked the dog up Thursday evening, a new vet was there. Apparently the practice was sold. The vet who had been treating my dog was gone.\r \r I have no opinion about the qualifications of the vet who purchased the practice. However, the owner of the clinic should have given the clients some notice that this was happening. \r \r I cannot imaging this scenario occurring in other professions. Think about it. What would your reaction be to going into your lawyer's office or doctor's office and finding out that the practice had been sold overnight. The new owner is there, acting like you would just continue the rel more
