Scary and tortuous for my 6 year old daugher! 5/3/2012

On May 3rd, 2012 my wife took our six year old daughter to this clinic to have her front two bottom teeth extracted. First, my six year old daughter had to go without any food OR water from dinner the night before. Okay, fine, I can understand the need for this. However, my daughter had to be at the office at 8A.M. along with ALL of the other children that were to be seen that day. They would then be taken in order of youngest to oldest. Arriving a little before 8A.M. my daughter had to wait until after 12 noon before being taken into the back office. She was the LAST child to be seen. Remember, she is only 6. All of the other kids were (supposedly) younger than 6!? So after fasting for more than 15 hours my daughter finally gets to go into the back office and get ""drugged up"" to have her front two teeth pulled. My wife was allowed to be in the room while they gave our daughter the ""drugs"" but was then forced to leave our daughter alone in the room with strangers - ""It's policy, ma'am."" Since my wife was not allowed to be in the room we can only go by what my daughter reported after leaving the office: She said that her arms and legs were strapped down or wrapped up so that she could not move. She also said that she was hit in the head because she would not stop crying. I called the office, after hearing this report from my daughter - who, I admit, was still very foggy and drousy from the drugs - and the man that performed the tooth extraction told me that at no time was she hit and that at no time was only one person allowed to be in the room alone with our daughter. Of course, what else would he say? Since ""it's policy"" to prevent anyone else from being in the room, how can this be proven or disproved? I can attest to the fact that my daughter, up until 8PM that day, was so scared that she would not let my wife leave her as she laid on the couch. Every time my daughter closed her eyes, they would snap back open in fear as she relived her experience at the clinic. She said that she could see the bright light on the arm at the office every time she closed her eyes. The only way she could sleep for any length of time was to be in my wife's arms. Finally, a little after 8P.M. she was up and moving around - pretty much back to normal. But we'll see how she does sleeping tonight. I cannot recommend more strongly to find somebody else to take your child to for dental work! I would not recommend this place to anyone, at any time for any reason. My child will NEVER again be drugged and left alone with strangers whether it's policy or not! Needless to say, we will be finding another dentist and orthodontic clinic for our family! more
