Slightly Disappointed 11/28/2008

I had heard good things about Shogun, but unfortunately my experience did not support those claims. Food that should have been served warm was cold, and sushi that should have been cold was warm. They were decent about it. Service was good. more

GREAT! 11/3/2008

This restaurant was better than I actually thought it would be. The food is great and the entertainers are funny and friendly. I also love it when you tell them its your birthday and they sing for you and give you a attractive cup of ice cream. :) Pros: Beautiful Environment/Great food Cons: Sort of pricey and the soup gave me a tummy ache :( more

Great Sushi! 4/8/2008

I love good sushi, and to me, it seems that most places will charge you an arm and a leg and claim their sushi is good! Shogun is good and reasonably priced. It is a regular spot for me. more

Use to be a favorite 6/7/2006

Food quality is good. Calimari Tempura is wonderful. Sushi is good. But they decided to get greedy. They took away the complimentary soup or salad. You have to buy a dinner for $15 to get it. $30 worth of sushi doesn't cut it. Wanting to save a penny cost them a dollar from me. We dont go back that often because of it. Service is very good. Pros: Food quality Cons: Wanting to save a penny cost a dollar. more

Cant you tell how much I love everything Japanese? Well, this restaurant is definitely among the best. Personally, I think Japanese food is so much betterand interestingthan Chinese or Korean, and if youve never tried it, youre missing out on a lot. This place has all the authentic cuisine, sushi, and even some new and original foods. more

Another Amazing Japanese Restraunt in Rockford 10/3/2005

I have only visited Shogun once........but I was very impressed with my experience. The staff worked hard to make sure I was taken care of. I went to shogun as an alternative to JMK Nippon's. I think that Shogun is a good competitor to JMK. So if you like one you will like the other. The main reason I visited was to try their sushi. I sat down at the sushi bar and watch my food get prepared. I was very satisfied with the few rolls that I tried. Overall a little expensive, but it's worth the money. If you like JMK Nippons check out Shogun. more
