Sam & Joe's Foreign Car Repair

My car is only 5 years old and I've been taking it to Sam and Joe since my purchase. I will never bring my car back. I brought my fully working car in for a battery replacement. After replacing my battery, I experienced extreme electrical problems. I can't let any of my windows down, nor can I unlock or lock my car. The manager, Johnathan, blamed me for the problem and refused to negotiate the problem. Obviously, showing loyalty to this company isn't important. Instead, I have to get someone to fix what Sam and Joe destroyed. Honesty, loyalty and putting customers first is definitely not a requirement for this company. They say they are "committed to providing the highest quality" and "within budget". That statement was completely false because I shouldn't have to pay for their mistake! more

I've taken my Jaguar and Mercedes to S&J many times. I don't get all the one-star reviews. No, the diagnostic charges aren't free, nor should they be. Diagnostic equipment can run $10k+ for just one make. But they apply the diagnostic charges to the cost of the repair, which is fair. As for the other negative reviews, I don't know what to say, except consider the source (a mechanic from Craigslist fixed the problem when a Bosch-certified repair facility couldn't find it? really??). Seriously, don't believe the hype. A garage is not a charity. But some of these reviews lead me to believe that people think it is. Bottom line - these guys do great work for a lot less than the dealer charges. The staff is friendly, the lounge is comfortable with free wi-fi, and they've even shuttled me around at no charge. more

They know MB inside out - but costly They don't have hourly rate charge ! They charge per job. My AC stop working due to one of the AC thermal sensor went south Part cost $105 but labor cost $500 plus Wonder MB dealer will charge me that much ? more

Moritz in Arlington much less expensive Mini Cooper repair. My sister brought in her Mini, already knowing what the Moritz diagnostics said. This place charged her $150 for the diag. again and WOULDN'T give her estimate until she was already $150 nonrefundable into the deal. We took the Mini to Moritz who was straight up and honest with her and charged less for the work with FREE diag. Will NEVER go here again and warn everyone to STAY AWAY. more

I have been to Sam's twice. Each time the car took longer and required a revisit. The knock sensor took over week, then the mechanic did not tighten a radiator hose properly which resulted in a slow leak and I had to go back. Fast forward 18 months this repair similar story, but this time a vacuum cable was not properly routed and I have an occasional misfire at idle. They looked at the car, but since it does not throw an error code, it's not a problem. So I had to spend a couple of hours retracing ALL the vacuum hoses to fix. S&J is competent, but does not pay enough attention to detail. more

I brought my Volvo in for scheduled service and front brakes (rotors too). The scheduled service price was a little high, but still reasonable. However, the price on the brake job was $200.00 more than what the dealership charges. When I complained, they dropped price down. What???? When I have work done, I expect a set price for a particular service based on car model and parts needed. I guess their philosophy is to ask for as much as they can and hope an uneducated consumer bites. If they don't bite, bring down the price. NO THANKS......I will take my business elsewhere!! more

Exceptional Service at a reasonable price is the most important thing I look for in a Car Repair Company. I have been a loyal Sam and Joe’s Customer for the last 6 years. They always take great care of me and make sure I have a ride if my car is going to take a while to fix. Every time I have more than basic work done, they wash and vacuum my car. They also call me to let me know when routine maintenance is soon needed. They even special ordered a wheel lock key for me that is being discontinued and hard to find (but needed to change my tires). When you become one of their customers they really make you feel like part of the family. I will always use Sam and Joe’s for all my car repair needs and just want to thank them for their consistent superior service. more

I had written a review on the 2nd of Feburary that was not in favor of Sam & Joe's, however I must admit they did handle the situation quickly and we both are please and they still will have my business in the near future. I do appreciate the fact of them doing what is in the best intrest of the customer that so few businesses will do. Customer service is very important to me being a business owner and when you feel as if things are not going well on your behalf and to give excellent customer service in return and seeing a happy customer is what it is all about. I appreciate the personal service to rectify the issue at hand. Personal service is very important in any business and loyal customers are more so important. Again I thank Joe for his personal service and I do look forward to continue to due business with you in the future as well as references. more

Ever since my old car repair shop closed down I have been looking for a good new place to call “home.” I consider myself to be one of those people that like to find a good thing and stick with it. I looked online FOREVER through all the car repair shops in DFW and couldn’t determine which was the best. My mother in law highly recommended Sam and Joe’s so I figured I would give it a shot. I immediately felt very comfortable with them - they are very professional and helpful. They always take very good care of my car and let me know in advanced when I need to have routine maintenance done (which is really good for me because I’m not one to pay attention to those things). I’m glad there are still businesses like Sam and Joe's that actually value and care about their customers. more

We took our range rover to these people just to have a regular diagnosis’s and they took 3 days and didn't do a thing. When my husband went to pick up the truck they never check anything. They told us what I had told them about the when I took the truck in. We took it to another shop and they told us right away and Sam & Joe’s never looked under the hood if they did they would have saw the hole in the manifold that was right in eye sight. That let us know they never even looked under the hood of our truck. They told my husband the oil light was on and I told them that because we needed a sensor replace and maybe they can tell me which sensor needed to be replaced and they said oh your oil light is on and there was no oil in the truck but wanted to do a oil change. Saying we had a leak. IF we had a leak why would want to change the oil and not try to find out where the leak was coming from. Also the mechanic said he never drove the truck because the oil light was on. That's dumb you are a shop why not! If you think it need oil put some in and charge me for it. I hate these people and they have not heard the last from me!!!! more

I would never take my mercedes anywhere else. These guys are trustworthy and make sure to fix the car the right way. I've been using them for years and i highly recommend them! They also gave me free nitrogen in my tires on my last visit just for being a customer. more

Repairing foreign cars is never cheap, but these guys do a good job of giving you a fair price and don't seem to do excessive work and replacements. We've always had good interactions with them and they seem to know their stuff. I've taken my older bmw there a couple of times and they seem to fix the problem. They're also pretty fast with their repairs. Try them. more
