Don't bother going by the prices on Bubble's website; they don't. I've been to this Bubbles a few times now. The services (haircut, dye, waxing) are overpriced for the quality. ...

I have been seeing the same girl for over eight years, Shingeye. She is a very talented hairstylist and I always feel l can just walk in and tell her to do whatever she wants and I am always pleased. Some of the other hairstylists are not so great, but I have never seen anyone else because there is no need to. more

Painful, negligent experience / Salon Cielo Aug 2010 8/6/2010

Very scary and painful experience at Salon Cielo at Columbia Mall. I was getting a ""mild"" relaxer from a charming, 20-somthing stylist. Because she did not base my scalp, I almost immediately felt chemical burns on my scalp. I let her know but she was nonchalant. Ultimately, I got up and said I couldn't stand the pain. Apparently, she did not now the safety or technical procedures to quickly get the relaxer off my scalp. She rubbed my scalp which made the burns worse and I everntually walked out with shampoo in my hair and very serious burns on my scalp. I'm folloiwng a dermatologist's treatment to help the healing. The pain was unbearable. My scalp is a scabby, painful mess. The worst part: no one in the salon did anything except watch the drama. No one came to my assistance or that of the stylist. May the seriousness of chemical burns from relaxers is not taken seriously by Cielo. Enter with cauthion more

Worst hair cut ever II 10/14/2005

The worst ever! Not professional! The Haircuttery would do a better job. Never ever go! Beware!!! They left me to have my hair conditioned head tilted back after a shampoo for over 15 minutes no lie. Cut was the worst I have ever had in my life. more

The Worst Salon Ever 8/19/2004

I went to Bubbles in Bethesda to get highlights, but the highlights ran because the inept stylist smashed the heater on my head and instructed me not to move. Of course, not moving would be the wrong thing to do this situation because I got a huge yellow spot on my head, which interestingly enough, the staff denies exists. Unfortunately, all those with sight do acknowledge the spot. Do not go here, they will mess your hair up and then promptly charge you top salon prices- they billed me for almost $100 even after they said they wouldn't!! Cons: , bleeding highlights, hair catastrophe more

Don't bother going by the prices on Bubble's website; they don't. I've been to this Bubbles a few times now. The services (haircut, dye, waxing) are overpriced for the quality. It's decent but average; I haven't ventured to other salons in the area -yet- only for fear I'll get worse treatment. The spa is small, not as sound-proof as I'd like, but they did try to make it relaxing, with soft music in the background. Too bad you can hear the techno and people chatting in the salon area. The employees always seem a little snooty to me, no matter which Bubbles I go to. It makes asking how much a service will cost uncomfortable. They're not the best about volunteering it either, i.e. in re: coloring suggestions, before they do it. Plus, the price varies per stylist, so you can't go by the price list. Pros: Easy to make appt, Location, Mall parking Cons: Pricey, Snooty employees, Inconsistent pricing more
