Rover Oaks Pet Resort-Katy

I could not be more pleased with the training my two pups received at The Rover Oaks in Katy! Jim Pufahl is an EXCELLENT trainer (coach and teacher). My two pups and I went through a few private lessons with Jim and then continued with the Lodge and Learn program. The results were amazing!! One of my pups went on to pass the Canine Good Citizen Test with ease and is now qualified to visit nursing homes and hospitals. My border collie and I recently completed Jim’s Good Manner’s Group Class. The class was so much fun that I found myself looking forward to Mondays!! We actually got a lot of individual attention in the group class and the lessons were customized so dogs with different levels of training could progress. That was a nice touch! Everyone in the class was sad to see the class end. I highly recommend Jim Pufahl for anyone looking for a great trainer with a lot of experience, patience and the ability to work with all types of dogs. I can also recommend Doggie Daycare. Jim recommended the Rover Oak’s daycare to help with the socialization process when I first started training my dogs. I must admit that I initially found the idea of daycare for dogs to be hilarious. It did not take long to realize the benefits. My dogs are able to burn a lot of energy and socialize. Rover Oaks is the most awesome place to have your dog groomed. My schnauzer loves Melanie and she does a great job. I have never boarded my dog there, but toured the facility which is quite impressive. When you get out of your car, the dogs in the front yards are there to greet your pet with a friendly bark :) more

We have two pugs who are absolutely in love with the staff at Rover Oaks! We board them when we are on vacation as well as take them to Doggie Daycare once a week. When we go to pick them up they actually don't want to leave because they have so much fun and get so much love and attention. We have tried many boarding places around Houston before finding Rover Oaks Katy a few years ago and this by far is the best facility and best staff anywhere. I would like to thank Rover Oaks-Katy staff for the wonderful experience my chocolate lab and I had in obedience classes this summer. After two classes Rocky is a certified Canine Good Citizen and we are excited to start our 3rd class to become a therapy dog. There may be other places that offer obedience classes that cost less, however I would never pay less for what we received at Rover Oaks-Katy. Aki taught me how to control and discipline Rocky while using positive reinforcement that made it fun for both of us! Because of the knowledge that we were given, Rocky is not just our pet but a member of the family now. Thank you Aki! We will be seeing you very soon with the new puppy and Rocky's continuing education. more

They have a puppy class for puppies under 4 months old. My puppy got to play with other puppies and learned a few obedience commands. I wish I knew about this class when my other dog was a puppy. I took him to a different trainer when he was much older. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this place! more

We took a training class for our dog Bobby that we adopted from CAP with Aki as the instructor and she was the best. Aki gave amazing suggestions and training tips that worked great. He is a much better behaved dog thanks to the class we took and Aki taught me how to teach my dog. All the staff there are very caring and it’s a clean and well kept pet resort. I would definitely recommend Rover Oaks Pet Resort in Katy and consider it to be a top notch facility. There is definitely professionalism and love for the animals and their owners there. more

The staff and trainers are excellent. 4 years ago i adopted a dog that had so may problems Took 3 different training classes and then R.O. opened. My dog went for train and board. He never had a problem again. In fact he is now a Therapy dog. i was given the gift of the best dog ever. I have taken beginners, G.C.C. ,trick class, Therapy dog classes ,reactive classes (with another problem child) .The people(including the owners ) have a great compassion for our 4 legged friends. I use to worry about our fur children the entire time I was on holiday, but no longer. Thanks to the care they receive by the ENTIRE staff at Rover Oaks, I worry that our dogs will want to leave. Herz is 14 now and has never been fond of people other than his own family. Imagine my surprise when he walked in and kissed a member of the staff! Not only to they have a first rate operation, but they are active in the community. These are just great people! more

I am so happy, we finally found a wonderful place to get our dog Dixie groomed! Thank you Rover Oaks in Katy and to Becky who gave her such a super cut. Not only did the cut look great but I guess the old place I took her did not cut her pads or nail the way they should be. What a pleasure to find a groomer that knows how a dog should be taken care of!!!!! more

I've had my dog for 3 1/2 years now. Rover Oaks has been her favorite home away from home. It all started with excellent puppy training with Jackie. Then we ventured into TLK 9's Therapy Dog training and work with Shannon and Aki as trainers. We also do the R.E.A.D. Program with training from Shannon and Sharon. Aki even taught us how to do tricks that the senior citizens we visit adore. Rover Oaks staff and trainers love animals. I admire the work they do with CAPS to help dogs get adopted by quality people. When I board my pet I don't have a worry, she will have the best of times playing in the small dog daycare and enjoy loving caretakers. The facility is very well maintained and clean. Last but not least, Becky the groomer does show quality groomings. Dogs come out looking breed appropriate. So if you want a place where everyone knows you and your pet by name and is caring. Rover Oaks Katy is that WONDERFUL place! more

I just wanted to take a minute to give kudos to the staff at Rover Oaks Katy for the great service that they provide to pet owners. We have a female shar-pei/terrier mix named Kira that we purchased from C.A.P. about 6 months ago. When we went out of town for the Christmas holidays, we boarded Kira for the first time with a pet hotel who will remain nameless. Without going into a lot of detail, I’ll just say that I was very displeased with the service and with the way Kira was treated. When we had to go out of town again in January, I began shopping for potential places for Kira. I checked out the website for Rover Oaks and read about the resort and the staff, I decided to give them a try. I must say that they exceeded my expectations! I was really impressed with how friendly the staff was and how patient they were with me and answered all of my questions and took me around for a tour of the facility. When we came back to pick Kira up, she was clearly happy and stress free. I can tell that they took excellent care of her. I was impressed with the written report we received about her stay as well as how attentive her caregiver was when she brought her to me. I could tell that the caregiver genuinely loves animals and she seemed very attentive and affectionate towards Kira when she brought her to me. She just went on and on about how much she enjoyed taking care of Kira and how beautiful Kira is. She went on to explain Kira’s eating habits as well as her demeanor during her stay. I can honestly say that Rover Oaks is the only place that I will bring Kira when we have to go out of town. I’ve also told friends and family with pets about how wonderful I think Rover Oaks is! I'll admit...I'm a neurotic pet owner. I've never boarded "my boys" ever. But I had to go out of town for 9 days and their usual care giver was unavailable. So, I sent Rover Oaks an email asking for a quote. I was contacted within the hour, provided a price quote and was invited to take a tour of the facility. The facility is clean. The staff were friendly. The dogs in their care appeared to be well cared for. ALL the kennels were clean. I was satisified and booked two kennels for my dogs. A few days later I stopped by and sprung a surprise visit on them. I have to admit that I thought it was rather convenient that all the kennels were spotless the first time I was invited to take a tour. I thought it must have been planned. However, when I asked for another tour during my surprise visit they didn't hesitate to take me back there right away. And to my surprise, and great relief, all the dogs looked happy and were in spotless kennels! Rover Oaks handled my special requests with my older male doberman who has a neck injury. They also seperated two of my dogs during feeding times per my request and I didn't incur an additional charge for it. All of my dogs were given Kuranda beds and they allowed me to bring their own orthopedic bed toppers, treats and toys. The staff were great and handled my daily phone calls to check on "my boys". They were always professional and took time to tell me how each of them were doing. When I returned, my dogs literally walked RIGHT passed me! They were having so much fun and were so comfortable at Rover Oaks that they didn't even notice me! The best part was that Rover Oaks provided me with a report card about what the dogs did for the week. I feel 100% comfortable with boarding my boys at Rover Oaks and wouldn't hesitate to send them there again! This is a wonderful, clean facility with very caring staff. They have day care that is truely outstanding and the big dogs are seperate from the small ones. The people are interested and try to make the customer happy. My dogs don't come back smelling bad- even when they don't get a bath. Both dogs can't wait to go inside when we get there. You pay for the service but they truely provide a first class service. Rover Oaks is a great place for boarding, training and day care for your pets. I have a crazy dog and they are so patient with her and never make me feel bad for whatever mess she gets herself into! The people that work there really do love animals and just shower all the pets with affection. This is the only place I board my dog! Pros: super pet friendly staff Cons: none more

I never have to worry about my dog Atlas..he is always so happy to go to Rover Oaks in Katy. He gets the best treatment and gets to romp and play with the other pets in doggie daycare. I have complete trust that he is being taken very good care of :)) Pros: Best boarding in town more

The staff and facility at Rover Oaks Katy is excellent. It is beautiful and clean and the staff always make me feel like they truly love my dog, Bentley, and take such great care of him. It makes my trips much more enjoyable knowing Bentley is getting so much love and attention. They go above and beyond a normal boarding facility. more

First experience with boarding our beloved 17 y/o Jack Russell Terrier "Chelsea". This facility was recommended to us by our neighbors who also board their dog there. I was very nervous and upset about having to leave her for a week due to her age and age related deficits (deaf and poor vision) but the staff at Rover Oaks were spectacular!!! Very friendly to me as I toured the immaculately clean facility prior to boarding and reassuring to me that my senior pet would be watched carefully and her needs met with kindness and patience, including medication administration. I picked her up today and she was bright eyed, happy, perky for her age and very clean. They did a great job with her bath and grooming! I felt immensly relieved that staff would care for my pet in my absence so well. I will definitely return in the future and I can never thank them enough for their care and kindness to our Chelsea. The Staff at Rover Oaks in Katy are obviously animal lovers and care about their jobs and the pets. How comforting! Kudo's to all of you!!!! My 10-pound Jack-Chi, Remmy, absolutely loves going to Rover Oaks to be groomed. The front desk staff takes extra time and gives special care to my sometimes shaky pup (he is part chihuahua after all). I always get a friendly phone call when he's done and ready to be picked up, and he looks fabulous. The prices are very reasonable and I completely trust Rover Oaks Katy with my four-legged son. I'm about to begin the process of having him accepted to their day care program. I highly recommend Rover Oaks Katy! You can board your pet at Rover Oaks Katy with complete confidence. I am very picky about who I will entrust my precious pet to, and Rover Oaks has proven MORE than worthy of my trust. My dog has stayed at this facility several times, and has also been groomed here. My dog LOVES staying here. He knows the routine, and the minute his overnight bag goes into the car he can hardly contain his excitement. It only increases as we near the facility. The staff is friendly, efficient and is always willing to answer any questions. When I call on status or leave messages, they are prompt to respond. This place is wonderful. Rover Oaks Katy is the best! My two dogs love going there to stay, to play with their friends and to be groomed... I truly can't say enough wonderful things about the staff and facility . Becky the groomer is the best I have ever used, my dogs are always complemented on their cuts. I feel relaxed and comfortable when I am away knowing they are in such loving capable hands.
