Whose detective skills should we call into question? 3/19/2010

I would like to add to the discussion that I used to work for RightTimeKIDS and I always loved the store and Richard. He is very in touch with what goes on there and I cannot imagine him not investigating a problem. I had a problem with another staffer, who shall remain nameless, but was in a position of power over me, while I was there and he helped me to resolve it. He didn't believe the sladerous word of the other employee, who had been there longer, and worked to find the truth. I hate to see him slandered here. Perhaps the parent who posted the first discussion item should have been a little more understanding and not so ready to accuse others. Sounds like her ""detective"" skills are the ones who should be questioned here. more

Safe, fun place for kids 11/16/2009

My daughter has been going to RTK-Morrisville 3-5 days per week for nearly two years now, and we've had a great experience there. The staff (even through some turnover) has been responsible, compassionate and kind. I highly recommend this business as good place for drop-off child care. Pros: No contract, fair prices Cons: Limited lunch variety more

Abusive to Potty Training Toddler 11/23/2008

My daughter, almost 9 years old and very bright, came home from RTK at Davis drive one night saying there was a two year old who one staff was trying to get to go to the restroom, but having little success and then resorted to sternly telling her that if she did not go potty she would not ever be able to come back to Right Time Kids and that she was going to destroy the picture the little girl had just made. Outrageous! So, I called the center that same evening and attempted to pass my phone number on to the girls' parents as I am certain my daughter got at least 80-90 percent of that story correct and felt the parents ought to know that something had gone terribly wrong. I also emailed the owner and informed him of what I had been told. His response was that this employee ""would never"" do this and she ""could not have said the things"" my daughter alleged. So, his mind was made up and said he would ask this staff directly if she had done so; I congratulated him on his great ability to sniff out the truth- I am pretty sure that is how all detectives find out who committed the crime- just ask the alleged criminal! In any event, I gave the owner a hard time about his handling of this and did the best I could to elicit a response from him since the girls' parents had never called. I felt I was the only defense this little girl had. Needless to say, Richard Slay, the owner, sent out an email to the girls' parents and the staff member trying to somehow paint me as the bad guy. This is not unlike one of his emails in which he said that the toddler was having trouble potty-training as if that were some sort of excuse for the mistreatment. The one thing this guy did right was to include the girl's parents on the email after the fifth one and a threat of CPS involvement. The only thing worse than the first situation was how Mr. Slay handled it. Clearly, he could only think to defend his self and not the child. Heartless as a human and unprofessional in business. more
