I set up a move with Danny Hawes to pick up my stuff in Salt Lake on a Wednesday and deliver to Texas Friday of the following week.\r
Less than 24 hours before, I got a call that the driver was stuck on Donner Pass. Fine. Weather happens. I spent the day making arrangements to adjust with the buyer and the other services involved, incurring change costs in the process.\r
I got a call on the next day saying that unless the driver can deliver 4 days earlier than originally agreed upon, I have to pay $850 in storage fees because the agent here messed up and dispatch can't do anything about it. Calls to the national office yielded no results (and it took a lot of persistence to even get to a real person.)\r
The prices might look good up front, but save yourself the trouble and go to someone who knows what they're doing in the first place!! The local agents and the national dispatch were all incompetent and unable to fix their mistakes. Both Wheaton and Allied were able to get me a replacement truck. (I went with Wheaton because Allied has the same national customer service as North American, and they were awful.)
Pros: Cheap
Cons: They don't deliver the services they say they will
