Even though I live about 14 miles away in NE GR, I changed from another local vet around 10 years ago due to the Red Barn?s fantastic walk-in appointment policy. It is so much easier to be able to get your animal seen by a talented staff when you have the time and when the animal needs to be seen vs. when the next open appt in their scheduling book allows. My last dog had two surgeries over 15 years at their office and quite extensive care in her last year of life. My current dog has begun her care there and I don?t expect to ever change. Their prices are low to fair for their services (and a fraction of the cost of an emergency vet clinic with much of the same appt flexibility) and they are very helpful and professional when you need to be seen. more

Red Barn & Dr. Curley are THE BEST! 1/20/2010

First of all, I am appauled by the below letter written by the person who has had a bad experience with Red Barn and Dr. Curley. Nobody is perfect in this world and they should not hold Dr. Curley or his staff responsible. Some people want miracles that sometimes are out of control, just like humans. I have been going to Dr. Curley since 1973 and am on my 7th animal with him. Three of these 7 had to be put to sleep and Dr. Curley shows nothing but the utmost compassion during the process and of course tried all options beforehand. I would never think of going anywhere else to have my animals cared and treated for, and have highly recommended Red Barn to all of my friends and family. The staff has always been more than friendly and accomodating to me. Perhaps the nasty person below was just that~~A nasty person! Like my title states, Dr Curley is the best! more

Model Vet 5/26/2009

This IS a great vet clinic. I read the review left by the anonymous person and it about made me sick! I know this vet very well and know for a fact that Dr Curley knows his stuff. He is both an amazing Doctor and surgeon. I have worked for other vets and know that I personally have never seen a surgery site heal as beautifully as his have. I know that looks shouldnt be that important as far as surgery goes, just get it done, but Dr Curley gets it done with perfection and skill. As for the person with the Pyometra dog, I am sorry you had to go through that however I think you should consider spaying your next pet before that happens. more

Wonderful caring place to bring your animals 7/12/2008

My brother and I both bring our animals there and have for years. Dr. Curley is fantasic, compassionate and very knowledgable in his practice. I had an experience with my first cat, where a dog attacked her and broke her leg. Dr. Curley did not give up on her and even though he gave her his best, it was an injury she could not revcover from because of her age. I eventually had to put her to sleep and it was very emmotional, the staff was extremely comforting to me at that time and I will never forget that. I have recommended this clinic to many friends and family and will continue to do so. more

Awful Veterinary Clinic 6/14/2008

This veterinary hospital has been a menace to my pets. First, they botched my cats declawing surgery, her toes are mutilated. Secondly, they misdiagnosed my dog with a tumor which was allegedly the size of a grapefruit. Turns out that there was no tumor what so ever, and sure enough there's more to this story. I brought my dog in one day when I found her nearly dead in the yard. As I walked into their door with my 60lb dog in my arms, an obvious struggle to myself, the staff stood around did not offer me a place to set her down and then asked for the last name, which by the way they should have known I had five pets that went there on a regular basis. Next seeing as it was their closing time, they gave my half dead dog some fluid and drugs and hastily sent my dog and I away even though she was clearly in no condition to leave, The vet then said come back tomorrow. Which I did not because on the way home the dog started to bleed out at which point I tried to call them, mind that they more

A veterinary clinic you can trust 11/2/2005

I have been taking my dog and cats to Red Barn for over 10 years. The staff has alway been very caring and compasionate to my family, my animals and I. My dog gets slightly nervous at the vets (she doesn't like getting her nails cut) and they are always very patient with her and make her feel comfortable. They never rush or do anything that makes the animals uncomfortable. The prices are very competitive with other vet clinics as well. I would recommend Red Barn Veterinary Clinic to anyone looking for a good Vet. PROS: Caring, Compasionate, Knowledgeable CONS: more
