Love this Vet!!! 10/29/2010

I have been very satisfied with the care my pets have recieved at MVVH. I have at one point or another seen all the doctors and have felt that all of them have been compassionate and caring! They have always explained charges and why my animals would benefit from the services. Overall, I have been super impressed and i would never take my cats anywhere else! more

Top-notch, friendly professionals ... 10/4/2010

Another customer at Mission Viejo Vet told me about some bad-mouthing going on in these reviews, and frankly, I can't see how that would happen! I've been extremely happy there for more than 10 years. The doctors are informative, caring and thorough. The clinic is often, make that almost ALWAYS busy and crowded, which tells me they have many, many pet owners who agree with me. It is expensive to get care and treatment for my dog, but what ISN'T? The staff has always been very forthcoming about charges, and willing to answer any questions I might have -- both about charges, and about alternatives that might be less expensive than the "perfect" option. Bottom line, the skills and professionalism here is unexceeded, and yet it retains the atmosphere of a friendly neighborhood clinic. That's win-win all around. more

`Mixed review 9/22/2010

I used MV vet for a couple of years but then experienced financial difficulties so got shots and neuters/spays through City of Aurora or Lulu/Meow mobile. We had an old family dog that we had to put to sleep. It was heartbreaking but the vet said kinds things to me and made the process very easy. Our oldest family cat was found after being missing several months and a female vet suggested we have tests done since she had lost so much weight. Well, duh, she was on the street for over 2 months. We skipped the tests and she was fine a few weeks later. Besides that, they have kept our malamute for us and called us when found several times for which we are very grateful. Now considering whether or not to test cat who pees on carpet or put to sleep. That's how I noticed these reviews. more

Not Happy 8/16/2010

I wasn't happy with the service I received at Mission Viejo vet. clinic. My kitty was very sick and I saw 3 of their vets - all separate appointments. It should have been more obvious what was going on with her, but after paying A LOT of money on things that were misdiagnosed, they didn't show compassion when I had to put my kitty t...o sleep. \r \r I ended up going to another vet clinic who had A LOT of compassion and I was very happy with them and felt much more comfortable about the hands my kitty was in when she was euthanized. I wanted her to be treated with as much dignity as possible.\r \r I saw Dr. Louderback who did not have compassion, Dr. Langston who was pushy and very uncompassionate and seemed to have a goal of just getting as much money out of the customer as possible. I saw one other vet, who I believe was new, but I can't remember his name. He was way off base in his diagnosis.\r \r I wouldn't suggest going here if you really care about your pet. I don't have much money rig more

A Great Vet 3/5/2010

After reading the last review...I felt I had to let everyone know my experience at Mission Viejo Veterinary Hospital. I brought my first dog there in the early eighties as a puppy. 2 Years later he got hit by a car and Mission Viejo Veterinary saved his life. A sick pet is something alot of people do not save up for, and when my dog got hit, I had to make a decision. I choose for him to have the surgery he need. I have never regretted using my savings to save my dog. Since then I have used Mission Viejo Veterinary with my other 2 dogs. I understand you pay for what you get and sometimes a few extra test need to be done. I have always received an estimate, or told how much the additional test would be and Dr Langston has ALWAYS discussed my options with me. With the friendly front staff and nurses and the return of Dr Langston, I think Mission Viejo is one of the best veterinary hospitals in the denver metro area. more

Excessive charges I think 3/5/2010

I have been going to this clinc for over 5 years & I have referred several people to them but my experience today has lead me to change vets. I took my cat in for wheezing today so the vet checked her breathing and heard nothing but felt her abdomen and said she thought she had fluid in her abdominal cavity and suggested a full body x-ray which I agreed to when the vet said it felt like there was fluid in the abdomen I of course was concerned by this unexpected finding and I then signed the estimate. $234.00 later I was told there was nothing wrong with my cat, that they could find but for $80.00 more I could have a radiologist read the $108.00 x-ray to be sure and this is after charging me $43.50 for them to read it and $30.50 for my cat to sit in her own kennel for 5 hours in the back room. I was charged $52.00 for a 5 min. office visit on top of that. We left the office with no answers but an outrageous bill. Oh but I got a $57.00 discount because the vet (Langston) ordered an e more

My dog is also agressive and tries to bite vets 7/28/2008

I took my 7 year old lab to this vet. My dog was trying to bite the vet as soon as he walked through the door. I had completely different experience. The vet did have to muzzle my dog, but I didn't mind because I was afraid my dog might bite. He spent a lot of time with me, and tried to calm my boy. He found an ear infection, and a broken tooth I had never noticed before. Now my dog is doing great, the ears are clean, and we had to pull the tooth but he eats better than he has in years. All in all the best experience I have ever had. Thank you Mission Viejo! more

Worst Vet Ever! 6/3/2008

After visiting this clinic for the first time that was all it took for me to know I will not ever be taking my dogs there again. First they took my dog back which is a young mixed lab about 55lbs the doctor took one look at him and because my dog was a bit sketchy and scared the doctor started treating him poorly and put a muzzle on him. He did his tests (my dog had an abscess and so the doctor had to poke him with 2 needles and give an injection that burned) in the end my dog was very scared. The Vet then sat down it startled him and my dog barked twice at that point the vet told me he would have to note my dog as potentially vicious. My dog has never shown any signs of being a vicious dog. The doctor made the dog uncomfortable, and made me feel uncomfortable. I would never recommend this clinic to anyone. more

Taking wonderful care of our pets 6/12/2007

My wife and I have had many great years taking all of our pets to Mission Viejo. The doctors and staff are friendly and wonderful with the animal, as well as the owners. We can not say enough great things about them. more

Honest, Caring and Professional team 4/24/2006

The veterinarians at Mission Viejo are kind and caring professionals. I am referring specifically to Dr Stearn. Each time I have seen him regarding an animal health issue he has always been up-front with me and has offered treatment options that were appropriate for me and my animals. He is more concerned that my animals are taken care of rather than worried about the bottom-line. This is very much appreciated in a community where there is so much empasis on making money. He has never candy coated anything and his honesty has made me appreciate his abilities and judgement! Dr Stearn is my vet of choice. more

Many years of wonderful service 4/12/2006

Mission Viejo Veterinary Clinic has provided our family and community many years of wonderful service. We grew up taking all of our animals to Dr. Louderback and getting wounderful friendly care. As an adult with my own family, I would not take our pets anywhere else. The staff and Doctors have welcomed us with our new puppies and comforted us when our lifetime friends could no longer go on.\r \r They are a wonderful asset to our family and our communiy, they are worth all 5 stars. PROS: convient and friendly CONS: more

A truely Caring an Wonderful Place 4/12/2006

I have been taking my pets to Mission Viejo since 1984 and have found them to be the most caring and wonderful place imaginable. The receptionist and nurses are so friendly and make me feel confident in their caring for my pet. They always have my pet's best interest at heart even referring me to an emergency clinic when my pet needs imdeiate and 24 hour care. Most receintly, I have been seeing Dr Stearn with my 13 year old dog for acupuncture. He is a truely good and kind person. The treatments have greatly improved my dog's quality of life. There is no other place like this. PROS: Wonderful doctors, Caring and friendly staff, up to date with vet meds CONS: some what hard to find more

Convenient and fast. A little $$ hungry. 3/13/2006

I've been using MV Vet for about 3 years now for 2 dogs and a cat periodically. I appreciate the convenience and ability to get appointments for shots and quick check up issues.\r \r I did have one not-so-great experience there where I encountered a fairly insensitive vet. Sorry, don't remember her name, but she was middle aged with dark hair. She was the "Saturday" doctor.\r \r My dog had injured her hip somehow, and this vet seemed intent on pushing me towards $6000 surgery or putting her to sleep. Her approach was very poor and unkind.\r \r My dog stayed still at home for a couple of weeks and now she's fine, no surgery no drugs.\r \r I've been okay with them since then. I just make sure to not use that particular vet when I go there - the other vets are very kind and sensitive. \r \r The front-desk help is always kind and cordial.\r \r Their rates are a little high compared to other vets. I'm not sure why. But I still go there due to the proximity to my house and ease of appointments. more
