Great service, great product, great appreciation 3/18/2011

Over 17 years of service and never disappointed. Always efficient and thorough. Suggestions always made about additional work which sometime i agree needs to be done, and other times I get additional quotes from additional garages (always a good idea with all car issues other than oil change and simple, inexpensive maintence). I highly recommend their service in Gig Harbor...you won't be disappointed. more

Great Place! 3/16/2011

Very honest, affordable place. This shop has been here for 20+ years and it's the only place my family and I go to. When I bring my car in for an oil change, I'm always out in less than 25 mins. They have very good communication and I always know exactly what's going on with my car as it's being repaired. I know I can trust them with all my automotive needs. more

Precision Tune Rips 9/17/2009

Good: Nothing actually. Bad: I asked for a detailed estimate for brake pad replacement. They wanted to change every part of my brake system. I then took it to another brake shop and was told all the other parts were fine, only needed pads and turning of the rotors. Many kudos to Midas for their fine work and no kudos for the rip off estimate. Plus while they examined my car, my map book became missing from the back seat.. Improvements: Ethics and honesty. Other: If you go here, get a firm estimate as they rather just start the work and charge charge charge. more

AVOID Precision Tune! They bait-n-switch, lie, then yell at you. 6/12/2009

I cannot recommend this company. Avoid them. There is a reason there is rarely a car in their lot! The work done was flawed (simple stuff – they left loose screws and nuts!). Several things were worse after they worked on the car. AND they were not honest about pricing. To top it off, they got viciously angry when I questioned the changes in pricing (bait and switch tactics). I am a middle aged professional with lots of conflict management experience, so I was very level and even toned. The proprietor however became very angry, loud, accusing, and condescending. He even called me “honey” and “dear” – yikes! I’ve never met this guy before, and he left nuts and bolts loose in my car… Need I say more? To start with, they advertise a very low cost tune up. Do not believe this advertising! It is false. They in fact charge about 5 times that advertised amount for a tune up. I asked on the phone upfront for clear pricing, and they did a very detailed over the phone quote, for exactly my vehicle make, model, year, etc. The tune-up services needed were basic & ordinary & typical. There was supposed to be special pricing for doing the whole tune-up package. The only thing special about the pricing is that it was about 4-5 times more than advertised, and about 1.5 times what was quoted on the phone. They told me "we can't do phone quotes," (um, so why did you?) When I brought the car to the shop, labor on each service item was $20-$40 more per service item than quoted the day before on the phone. To change the spark plugs there were the usual charges plus an up-charge (above the already too-high price) because they are hard to reach in my car. On the phone, they said "it will be an additional $112.50.” And they charged me $150 additional instead. They were going to charge $35 for the cabin filter (a $17 part) and $35 for labor. I told them not to do it because I wanted to save the $70, they removed the part charge but they still charged me $35 for the labor! This filter is in the glove box. A child can change it more
