The Plaza Maplewood Theater is one of the best deals out there. You can see, the seats tilt, lots of leg room, no steps to climb in the dark. Of course there are second run movies and the theater is older, but the benefits far outweigh this. more

Face it. Most of the Hollywood movies nowadays are dogs. If you are going to go out and see them you might as well see them here for $2! Cheap popcorn too! A big bucket for $3 bucks! The place is a little run down but hey, it is going out for $2 bucks! more

Great experience for little cost. 2/26/2006

Owner is trying his best to renovate the place. Costly. Difficult to show second run movies when there is not much time between 1st run and dvd sales. Academy award nominated short films will be showing the first weekend of March. Along with Harry Potter film Plaza is showing a documentary about the castle that was filmed for that movie. I go to the Plaza 3-4 times per month beacuse I enjoy the atmosphere. Pros: Room for your legs, Great popcorn, Great low price Cons: small lobby, only 2 screens more

Wonderful 4/26/2005

The owner went out of his way to make us comfortable. My wife had a hip replacement and could not sit in the low seats so the owner brought an easy chair in from the lobby to make her comfortable. Try that at another theater. I will be back many times. Pros: Inespensive, Not crowded, parking more

Funky neighborhood atmosphere 1/10/2003

I like the Plaza. The owner genuinely cares and tries hard to make the place fun for the whole family. It's a great value for two buck, plus they've got concession specials. The DTS Digital Sound is great also. If you want an apples-to-apples comparison, visit the Roseville 4 Theatre and you'll see how bad a discount theatre can get. Keep up the good work, Nathan! Too Much 5/25/2002

I have been to the Plaza many times and find it to be quite mediocre. The theaters are too long and narrow and they are rarely cleaned. I have had a single conversation with the owner and found him to be overbearing and trite. Some improvements have been made on the inside but the outside of the theater is nothing short of ridiculous. Exposed lights, half-working neon and posters from 1994 are just some of the things that you can look forward to. Pros: cheap, real butter Cons: narrow theaters, sound too loud, lackluster staff more
