I had their one of their specials of the night - crab cakes. WOW! Truly amazing!! Not the typical fillers that you get when you order crab cakes in many restaurants these days....

Overpriced and overrated. Chipino was good. Probably the only thing to go for there. I've had a variety of fish plates and filet there. The white fish there are oily and very ...

Best Seafood In Town!!! 8/11/2009

I had their one of their specials of the night - crab cakes. WOW! Truly amazing!! Not the typical fillers that you get when you order crab cakes in many restaurants these days. They do them right here - all crab meat, perfect amount of spices, and golden brown and crispy crust! Can't wait until they have them on as a special again!!! Also, they do allow you to make substitutions and accommodate special dietary needs such as no oil, no salt, etc. My family and I have been coming here for years and the food is consistently fantastic and reliable. So glad that there is a restaurant that is a fixture in the community and not one of those that come and go and change their "theme" or menu to try to be trendy. This is real San Francisco-style seafood - and just as fresh!! In fact, when I asked the owner for the Clam Chowder recipe, she took the time to share with me that they hired an executive chef from San Francisco to come up with the menu and recipes when they open approx. 30 years ago! No wonder it's all delicious!!! But you don't have to make the drive to the bay area OR pay double the price. You get the real thing here for a reasonable cost. And I have had their catering food too - WOW WOW WOW!!! Pros: Variety of fresh fish, salads, GREAT homemade soups Cons: some specials don't show up as specials often enough more

Great chipino, everything else is less than desired 11/9/2008

Overpriced and overrated. Chipino was good. Probably the only thing to go for there. I've had a variety of fish plates and filet there. The white fish there are oily and very fishy. Strange for white fish. The filet is not done like you want. Do not get a bottle of wine there. You can get the same wine for 13 bucks at Vons. They sell those wine for around 60! LOL. To those that think this is the best in Fresno, you people need to venture out. I feel sorry for you guys being deprived of good steak and seafood. Try McClintocks in Pismo Beach and come back here and try the food. I guarantee you guys will not say that again. Service is great though. Pros: CHIPINO, CHIPINO, CHIPINO. Also good service. Cons: Everything else. Atmosphere feels cheap and too close to everything. Way too overpriced for what it is. White fish is oily and pretty fishy. A bottle of wine is waaaay overpriced. more

best seafood in fresno! 3/31/2008

my family and i have frequented this restaurant for over twenty years, and have consistently been very happy with the service and food! pacific seafood is very well-known for big portions! it's nice to see a restaurant that is traditional! you still get soup (yummy chowder, but shrimp bisque is my fav) or salad and sourdough bread WITH your dinner! the cioppino is hands down my favorite, and i always have enough for lunch the next day-and i'm a very good eater! :) all their fried seafood items are very obviously hand breaded and NOT of the greasy or frozen variety. Our regular waiter in the enclosed patio, makes us always feel at home! with the competitive restaurant market in fresno (too many chains!!!!!), there is something to be said for a restaurant staying in business for over twenty-five years! it's too bad that someone had a not so glowing experience there, they should try it again! p.s. i've also heard that they do very reasonable caterings of just about every variety! Pros: food, service, banquet room, great kids menu Cons: closed between lunch and dinner hours more

Poor quality for high price 7/28/2006

Diner food at fancy restaurant prices. You get little value for your money. Prawn coctail was 4 medium shrimp for $9. Halibut special was made out of rubbery frozen fish. Portion was small; quality was not worth $24. Salad with seafood on top was disappointing. Lettuce was rough, not much seafood and not much else in the $15 salad. Decor of the restaurant is shabby. They do have table cloths, but it means nothing. The tableware and silvervare is high school cafeteria quality. This is not the fancy restaurant they are trying to pass it as. Pros: Friendly accurate service Cons: Diner quality food at high end restaurant prices. Shabby appearance. more

To think that we have a seafood restaurant here in Fresno that can rival any Bay Area restaurant is surprising. Pros: Food , Friendly Service more
