Pantages Theatre 4/9/2006

The Pantages Theatre is located in Downtown Minneapolis and is part of the Historic Theatre Group. The Pantages offers smaller plays, concerts, ballets, and other shows. Although not used nearly as often as it's sister theatres, the Orpheum and the State, the Pantages is just as beautiful and elegant. It has a smaller house than either of its bigger sisters. It was restored in recent years to its beautiful blue decor. This theatre also has a neat display of theatre history in it's basement, near the theatres only restrooms. It has a lobby with a more modern style bar. The theatre offers main floor and balcony seating. Take the back stairs to catch a glimpse of how badly decayed the theatre was, before they remodled it. They kept up some of the old wall paper for people to see the before and after. more

Historic State Theatre 4/9/2006

The Historic State Theatre is located in Downtown Minneapolis on Hennepin Avenue. This theatre was built in the 1920's and has old fashioned theatre elegance. It was restored in the 1990's to its former beauty. The State Theatre is a great place to see a concert, play, or other special event. You can also rent the upstairs balcony lobby for dinner parties or work functions before or after a show. The State Theatre is smaller than the Orpheum, so it is used for slightly smaller events. Its lobby is more casual and easier to pop in and out of than the Orpheum. It is conventiently located very near Rock Bottom Brewery and Palamino restaurants, for before or after show dining. Treat yourself to a show at the State! You won't be dissapointed. more

Movin' Out 9/1/2005

We saw this show a few weeks ago. Although the music was good, I wasn't aware that it was 100% interpretive dance. Overall, that isn't my style, and I wasn't really impressed with the show overall. The only redeeming quality was that the lead singer in the orchestra was absolutely amazing. His vocal style was spot-on, and he really made the show. Another thing to be aware of when you go to the Orpheum theater--leg room is seriously lacking! Make sure you ask for an aisle seat, or you might be in trouble! more

the concert was awesome 8/21/2005

the concert was awesome at the Orpheum theater. The seats were comfortable, the sound quality was remarkable and the view was perfect even from a bad section of seats. the entire experience was awesome and would return to see Manson there anytime. The tickets were also easy to purchase in person just across the street at the state theater. more
