The price is right for quality and portions 10/29/2010

Went on a non-game day and had the place to ourselves except for one other couple.\r The pretzel bread they give you (on a diamond shaped plate) w/ the cheddar cheese mustard butter is yummy! Thankfully we opted to skip an app and go straight for dinner because no normal human can eat an entire portion of this food. \r I had the 14 oz NY Strip ($32) with a side of garlic mashed potatoes($9). The steak was a perfect med rare and so flavorful from the marbeling in the steak, the potatoes were also wonderful. My mom had the pork chop served with farro ($40) The waiter had said it was an incredibly moist double cut chop but I believe it was more like triple cut!! That thing could feed 2 starving people and yes it was moist and delicious. She also got a side of the lobster mac and cheese (large enough for 2-3 to share $12) which was sooooo good with large pieces of lobster claw in it.We shared a massive piece of carrot cake ($13) which was very good but not the best according to the waiter.\r This place is incredibly delicious and the prices are on par with any other great steakhouse and well worth it for the portions and quality of food. I rank it with Gallagher's and Ruths Chris but nothing can top Peter Luger's. I would go back here in a heartbeat \r more

Great steak 5/28/2010

I was lucky enough to be treated here before a game recently and had a great time. We rode up to the 2nd floor above the Hard Rock and were seated at a nice table with cushy seats that looked like they belonged by a nice fire. They started us with what looked like pretzels and were really soft and came with a mustard cheese spread. We split the crabcake and stuffed prawns which were nice sized appetizers. We then had the NY strip and filet mignon. The filet mignon was very small and was a little dry but it was good. The NY strip was delicious. We saw t-bones going by that they apparently carve your initials into. My favorite was the sides- onion ring stack and lobster mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was very decadent and the onion rings were in a delicious batter. We were way too stuffed for dessert but did see them flambe a dessert for someone's birthday. Its definitely a pricey meal and I'm not sure I would travel to eat there unless I was going to the game, but it was a really nice start to the night, and the Yankees won! Pros: steak, sides Cons: prices more
