Northwest Security Solution did very poor background checking in a critical case; in fact, they apparently did no real background check at all.
Rick Guerrero, an owner, claimed to have done a ""thorough"" background check on Jeffrey Eldon Purdy b.9-29-1964, by checking with the King County Sheriff and local police, and courts. He gave Mr. Purdy a ""clean"" background report, claiming that Mr. Purdy's record consisted only of minor offenses, such as driving tickets, and no civil actions in the courts.
However, the Sheriff's representative informed my client that Mr. Guerrero was wrong, said Mr. Purdy had felonies, that he was convicted twice for molesting little girls, an 8 year old and a 12 year old, was a Registered Sex Offender, had a long criminal record, including dope sales, drunk driving, etc. The Sheriff?s office told my client that the Sheriff's office doe NOT do background checks - only the WA State Patrol does background checks. WA State Patrol told my client that Washington Security Solution had not requested any background checks since 2004.
Clearly, Northwest Security Solution did not do the ""thorough background check"" as claimed.
Landlords and companies rely on background checks, and giving sexual predators and sociopaths clean reports can cause serious, possibly grave harm to those who rely on the accuracy of such reports and can also jeopardize the safety of the public.
There can be NO excuse for this gross incompetence and refusal to correct glaring errors. And it is indefensible since they were thoroughly alerted to their serious error concerning a predatory sociopath sex offender. Mr. Purdy is a plumber who has used a fake company, Purdy's Pipe Protection (email: purdiyspipeprotection@yahoo.co) to work under that table, evade all taxes for years, work on homes and apartments with young children present and is doing so still, with impunity.
Mr. Purdy has been evicted from every residence he as managed to get into. This also escaped the ""thorough"" background check.
Because of their flawed or false background report, Mr. Purdy was able to take advantage of the clean report to continue to prey on others and inflict considerable harm.
Mr. Purdy and his girlfriend, Lillian Gaines rented a house in Sea-Tac, WA, in a neighborhood with small children. When they were evicted for non payment of rent and drug use, they retaliated by damaging the house and landscaping, then broke into their landlord's garage, stealing thousands of dollars worth of property, then destroying what they could not haul off. They took the property to Public Storage, 17800 Des Moines Memorial Drive, Des Moines, Washington, putting the stolen goods in a large storage unit, #3033, in the name of Lillian Gaines.
When Mr. Guerrero was informed of this by my client, his response was to threaten to obtain a restraining order against my client for harassment!!
